What are the new questionnaires (appropriateness assessments) and self assessment forms (restricted or retail investor statements) that investors need to complete now on CEXs (centralised exchanges) following the UK government and FCA regulations?
What is the 24-hour cooling off period that exchanges must implement?
What is a high net worth investor and what is certified or self certified sophisticated investor, rather than being a retail or restricted investor when investing in cryptocurrencies?
What was the deadline for firms to register with the UK government, if they’re allowed to offer crypto services to UK retail investors such as fiat currency on ramps and off ramps e.g. GBP or British Pound?

It's feels like any government wants us to keep us a working level to pay there taxes. If the standard person gets wealthy n goes abroad they loose workers and money so they make it harder for the average person to better them self's. As crypto can be easy way to make money if you put in at right time.

@@danleary123I thought so too, until 2 exchanges told me that my 'crypto journey' will end and I won't be able to trade unless I select one of the options. Both had the option to pick 'neither applies to me' but that would have closed my account if I had selected it.

It's not even 10% of your income, but 10% of your assets, not including pensions or property. Which would prevent pretty much everyone under middle age from being able to buy crypto. How this isn't ageist is beyond me. The government seems to have no problem with young people racking up tens of thousands of pounds of debt in university and credit card debt and even paying their gambling habit or thousands of pounds on Fortnite with the same credit cards. But exploring alternative forms of currency? No chance!

That's what also makes sense to me, since its my money being used to invest in a legal asset on an FCA regulated entity, but I'm worried when the time comes to withdraw my bank will freeze it or god knows what... Also the question doesn't even make sense it the first place because what if you really have under 10% initially and then it grows to 25% during the bullrun, what then lol its so stupid

It's not an enforced rule...its a self declaration being used as a waiver of accountability to stop any bank being liable for having to help you if you lose it all which I suspect was happening alot and people running to the bank to get help.. With this it's made clear that you went against your self declaration so no ones responsible to help.. Which anyone with half a brain accepted knew from the get go

Love the vid. So if your rich your not restricted but if your an normal investor you will be restricted. The UK as a crypto hub was a joke from the start it was a nice way of saying we will keep the plebs in their place. This is not what crypto was designed for so I thing defi will be the answer to alot of problems.

Solid video. I was given one of these by uphold, and simply answered as you've stated. It's frustrating that UK investors are not eligible for all the air drops and promotions that Uphold is able to offer every single other country...I maybe exaggerating, I haven't looked in to Europe and any restrictions they may have on their services. It certainly feels like yhe government is sitting there lacking their lips at the prospect of taxing the back end out of crypto investors!

Not only the exchanges that are closing down but also many icos/presales sites saying if from the Uk please leave site immediately, I’m invested in a number of them without any problems so far and could easily use a vpn if needed. Like many here in the comments I really don’t want or need these people in my life trying to decide what’s good for me. Thanks for your video.

The only exchange that is a bit of a salvation is Kucoin, but, unless you're depositing USDT, its pretty much useless as an onramp using gbp. The nets closing in us normal people. Keep bringing these update vids mate, there helpful 👊🏽

Great video. I was wondering if anyone's in the same situation as me. I fall into the lower category on coinbase and have had to say i've invested less than 10% of my net worth. In reality i'm all in on crypto just a little worried i wont be able to cash out? Also I've recently seen (a month or two ago) our tit of a prime minister say he wants to make the UK a crypto hub at exactly the same time it seems to be getting harder and harder. Everyone knows they aren't protecting us just feels like they're letting the rich get richer and the little guys cant play

Am uk based. Totally different set of Questions on Kraken & etoro but not that difficult. I classified myself as high net worth so they couldnt limit me. Main priority over past 6 months has been to get as much fiat as possible on ramped & into the blockchain. I guess hmrc are gonna have a good old route around me on their system now i have declared high worth. Gonna need the crypto to do well so i can pay the accountant for the detailed examination thats coming !

Restricted investor means nothing, invested over the amount I specified from savings and no frozen account. Its just to comply with FCA so they can continue to operate.

That's great that it's still working for you and I'm sure it's working to get registered with the FCA, but it currently isn't. It states on its website that it's only licensed and regulated in Switzerland, France and Estonia. It also states on its website that "SwissBorg's services are not aimed at people based in the UK." Perhaps try contacting its customer services for an update if you had any concerns or questions?

What happens if you lie about income on the questionnaire? Or invest more than 10% anyway? No way am I limiting my investment level, I would only fill it out if there is literally no other way - The questionnaire isn't legally binding in any way surely?

They you catch you when you cash them out or sell and the money goes into your UK bank account :) So, basically, the Government will take 90% of your profit

@@steveblobs4851 look up CIM BANQUE they easy to open a account its in Switzerland Their strict privacy laws prohibit bankers from divulging customers’ account information without their consent. Any information leak can be deemed guilty and fined heavily. hope this helps

The government is affraid and want to full control UK customers. Crypto investor can put all crypto in wallet and go with all money abroad, easily you can go with few million pounds, by bank or personally you can send or take anly £10000.
