Danny McCrae someone could e been behind him and if he brakes hard could’ve caused a worse accident we don’t know bcos we didn’t see but it’s happened to me before I couldn’t swerve to avoid an accident bcos there’s was a car next to me and instead had to take the crash

@@joaorodrigues_coaching Not only does he not brake, he actually speeds up. He could at least brake slowly, the car behind is responsible for keeping a safe distance. Alternatively, he could have just not taken his exit, would have been inconvenient but less so than a crash. He could have: 1)Braked quickly 2)Braked slowly 3)Taken the next exit 4)Sped up and crash into the van to prove a point. Look at which one they did. Being a good driver isn't just about following the rules, it's about how you react to things that happen on the road.

I see your point and in many cases you are correct. However it's easy to see accidents coming if you're watching a youtube clip featuring only bad driving. You're already looking out for them. In real life someone might be checking mirrors or a blindspot etc at the key moment.

@@RobPearson286 "all the time in the world" If the cyclist hadn't somewhat understandably assumed that the driver was simply joining the main road. "Another Harvey G situation" Untrue as the minibus in the Harvey G clip only ever looked as if it was going in the one direction. Plus Harvey G had an escape route other than braking, he could simply have carried on around the roundabout. Where could the cyclist go in the one second from when it became clear that the car intended to take the side road? Hopefully you can now see the differences.

Awful driving, caused that accident and is at fault. Didn't attempt to brake or slow down and just drove at it! Would have made a great kamikaze pilot in WW2. I bet he was watching that minibus pull out, glanced at his camera knowing he was guaranteed to make his name known and get a video featured on UK Dash Cams, almost fully erect before the collision actually happened

the one before was the same: a perfect example of someone just trying to barrel on through because they have priority even though it was clear a fair while before from the other cars positioning that they were going through that space first. In both cases hanging back and waiting would have been basically as quick for everyone while also being a lot less stressful which is perfect!

Nope - hazard lights, still not indicators 😂 Obviously they got them confused with the brake pedal, and had a better reaction time putting those on than the brakes. Perhaps they were admiring the beauty of the red switch and was waiting for a moment to press it and see what those magical left and right orange lights do 🤔😂😂

You're absolutely correct - the cyclist did nothing wrong. Particularly as, watching it unfold from his PoV, I would have expected the Astra driver to cut me close but continue along the main road ahead of me. I absolutely didn't anticipate him crossing the main road into a side road opposite where he came from - he left the cyclist with nowhere to go. I hope the cyclist submitted the footage to the Police for the driver's and passenger's intimidation after the event. The driver operates to an interesting logic: "You saw me doing something wrong, so it's your fault." Yeah, right-o then. 🙄

On the first clip he had priority, and so had every right to go first. On the second the driver pulls out into a live lane. Granted he would have had to stop 20m up the road for traffic so the sensible thing would be to let the person out. However the driver pulled out hindering both the cammer and the oncoming car for no reason

I've never seen 3 people less aware of what is happening. The cyclist looked, but didn't care. The pedestrian was already on the phone & barely noticed. Worst of all the driver of the Audi looked like he didn't notice the car in front or that he'd had an accident, didn't move at all. Just shocking!

Cyclist had loads of time to avoid it even if the car wasn't giving way/signalling or whatever. The whole idea of using the road is to avoid any problem , if that means easing off the throttle/pedal or whatever then so be it. The accident would not have happened if the cyclist had slowed down once the car started to move out and join.

2:11 The black (Holden Astra is it?) is 100%, hands down in the wrong. 1. Crossed the road (essentially turning right) failed to indicate left turning off that road into the Volvo lot. 2. Crossed in front of the cyclist failing to yield for them. 3. Decided it would be better NOT to turn into the Volvo lot and drive off failing to render assistance to the cyclist. 4. Only stopped further down the road when it was clear he was followed for answers for his stupidity/lawlessness. 5. Abused the cyclist (as did his foolishly enabling passenger) for HIS error causing possible physical harm to the cyclist. 6. At no time apologised. Why the full monologue? Because this is another disgusting example of 'adulting' and managing the control of a vehicle (weighing tonnes) and placing another human life in danger without care, consideration or retribution. I hope the cyclist wasn't hurt.

Scott is VERY short-sighted. Beyond the white car pulling out, the traffic is at a standstill. He would not have lost anything just stopping to let it go. Obviously a very impatient and discourteous person. 2:23. I didn't realise that Astras had a two-driver option. 4:46 Camcar could see the minibus was pulling out. No attempt to brake at all.

Sev Fast nope, the cars the Clio is overtaking are going to McDonald’s. The Clio is trying to get past them to get into Sainsbury’s. It’s in Chippenham in Wiltshire and you always get people doing this when there are loads of people queuing for the MacDs drive-thru blocking the way into the Sainsbury’s car park. It’s a really badly designed set of junctions that is always a pain in the arse with drivers like the Clio thinking they can just skip ahead on the other side of the road!

@@ReubenAshwell @Aztekonise Actually it is...you are only permitted to run an amber light if you are so close that to stop would cause an accident If working properly that amber light will show for 3 seconds before the red shows. If you cross the line towards the end of those 3 seconds there is a good case for driving without due care and attention as you should have been driving with an eye to stopping and so your reaction time to the green going out would be much less than for say a child stepping into the road in front of you - you would have the majority of the 3 seconds to stop (unlike with the child when your reaction time is likely to be increased by the panic you'll experience). And if you look Dominic was just about to cross the stop line when the amber showed so there was no way he could have stopped (safely behind the line) and so the exemption clause holds.

8:17 the driver go's through an amber light and then has the front to scream at a stationary car that jumps forward an inch with no thought of how or why it had become to be there. A slower approach would have solved the whole thing. It's clear a lot of people are to stressed to be driving.

Roundabout crashes always look like this on a wide angled dash cam lens, especially when the camera is in the middle of the windscreen. the camera makes things look further away and it’s easier to spot when you are not driving. The van was probably in the drivers pillar blind spot until the last moment. Camera footage can be deceptive.

4:45 The minibus shouldn't have pulled out but the cam car didn't slow down at all and just crashed into them on purpose, hand your license in bud. 7:00 the Merc left it a little late to overtake put looking at the footage he still had a little room (I know some dashcams do not show how much room there actually was), but Nigel if you think your driving is acceptable you really do need to hand your license in for the safety of other drivers, the way you were serving into oncoming traffic.

Actually, he didn't have right of way (no driver does). The van should have _given way_ to him but as soon as it failed to do so and it was in HarveyG's power to avoid the accident, he then has the responsibility to take the necessary action. If the van driver's insurance paid out in full having seen the clip, I'd be very surprised.
