UK departure day | travelling to Bangkok Thailand.
Flying from London Heathrow Terminal 4 to Bangkok Thailand, via a stopover in Abu Dhabi.
Checking in and going through security was super smooth and super quick, like 10 minutes quick.
Being our first time doing a stopover, neither of us was 100% sure if we had to collect our luggage or not. Turns out it was all good and we would see our luggage in Bangkok.
This was our first time flying with Etihad airways, it was ok but won't be our first choice airline.
We had to wait an hour on the plane before take off and we were 20 minutes late leaving.
The inflight entertainment was good, plenty of films and games to choose from, and some of the games you could play with another passenger not just the computer.
The food was ok, the chicken dish didn't have much flavour but the crazy pot after was delicious.
One thing I didn't particularly like was that when you ask for a drink, it is given to you in a small cup, no can, no bottle, so I felt like either a massive inconvenience having to ask for a drink so many times or on the flip side asking for multiple at once.
Once we arrived in Abu Dhabi, it was very easy to fine our way to our connecting flight and a reasonably comfortable waiting area for over 4 hours.
Abu Dhabi airport is pretty big and very fancy looking and also come with a rather large price tag if you wish to buy anything. Nice to window shop though.
Next flight to Bangkok was very smooth I guess as I slept majority of the way.
Arriving in Bangkok and going through visa control was again quick and smooth, around 15-20 minutes and we were on our way to collect our luggage, and when we tell you the heat smacks you in the face, be prepared.
Overall a pretty decent 19 hour travel day 👍
