It’s now less than three weeks to go to Britain’s general election, and the leaders of the four biggest parties at Westminster have been given a grilling by members of the public, in a special edition of the BBC's Question Time.
Jeremy Corbyn revealed he would stay neutral in the event of a new Brexit referendum, while Boris Johnson was forced to defend the Conservatives' handling of the NHS. Jo Swinson was asked tough questions on her plan to stop Brexit, and Nicola Sturgeon was asked if she prioritised Scottish independence over leaving the EU.
Meanwhile the Brexit Party has launched its ‘contract’ with the public, and Plaid Cymru published its own manifesto.
BBC News at Ten’s coverage, including a special report on voter reaction from Norwich.

People always allege bias fitting their own personal opinions and without being specific (lefties whine about the BBC being too right wing, conservatives the opposite). Makes me think they're on the money a lot of the time. The only major BBC bias I have been able to detect is a certain establishment bias. Left or right-wing, you're more likely to be accepted if you're a part of the "club" and the opposite of course if you aren't. Sometimes they also fall into the standard media trap of sensationalism and/or unnecessary neutrality (i.e. let's have an expert and an idiot discuss topic x to give both sides), but those things are not exclusive to the BBC, what's more, they're more common on other channels...

@GugaGDFABC
@GugaGDFABC 4 года назад
@JC4PM4Christmas Yeah sure, the BBC are right-wing despite the fact that they had a proven Labour Party activist asking Farage on Question Time the other day and using typical moronic far-left talking points (which you no doubt also believe in) and that today every single question against Boris was in a negative tone and asked from an economically illiterate social justice warrior perspective.
@GugaGDFABC
@GugaGDFABC 4 года назад
@JC4PM4Christmas I'm not a big Boris fan, I actually think he's a bit of an opportunist. But Corbyn is objectively worse. Regardless, this isn't what we're talking about. You can claim the Telegraph, Daily Express and other newspapers are biased against Labour, but to say that the BBC is in favour of the Tories is absolutely ridiculous. The entire debate today was basically the audience repeating leftist talking points. You actually may agree with them, but you should recognize that these views aren't held by most of the population, and therefore, the audience was not representative of the UK population.

Pommie bears I’m not suggesting the BBC is a Tory platform, I’m not voting neither Tory or labour, nor Lib Dem, but I’m just observing what I listened to on question time to this video, The bbc is not left wing, because it is government backed via the taxpayer, naturally it would lean only slightly to the government of the day regardless of who’s in power.. aswell as that though they have some reporters that had a concerning review from the BBC trust, one in question had a bias against labour..

paul Parker Palestine is a fictitious nation. Israel has never been Palestinian territory. You know why? Because Jordan was in charge of Jerusalem. Egypt was in charge of the Gaza Strip. There was no Palestinian government, there was no Palestinian people all of this was a fiction that was created in the aftermath of 1948. The sole purpose for the existence of the political group known as the Palestinian Liberation organisation (PLO) in 1964 and the deliberate creation of the "Palestinian people" as a separate entity in 1967 was the total destruction of Israel! It was NOT to achieve a homeland for the "Palestinian people"; that "cause" was a purposeful act of propaganda developed in order to cover up their real intentions from Westerners and achieve their goal of replacing Israel with "Palestine"! (Unfortunately, they've been so successful that even their enemies have adopted their terminology and are unwittingly helping them achieve their goals.) There was NEVER a separate political entity among the Arabs for indicating an Arab group known as "Palestinians" until 1967 and this political group was not recognized by even other Arab countries until the Rabat Summit Conference in 1974. Do FACTS hurt your feelings! www.palestinefacts.org/pf_1967to1991_rabat_1974.php

On the basis of performance, here is the order: 1) Nicola Sturgeon, 2) Jeremy Corbyn, 3) Boris Johnson, 4) Jo Swinson. I have to say, Sturgeon is articulate, she doesn't dodge questions. Corbyn is passionate the areas he feels comfortable, he is indecisive the areas he feels uncomfortable. For example, Corbyn is half-hearted on Brexit and anti-Semitism. Boris struggles to articulate his thoughts. I read somewhere that Boris as a child had several operations in his ears, if you notice, Boris sometimes leans forward to hear properly. Boris is not really as bad person as some people are made to believe, he is a talented writer, he sometimes uses colourful phrases to attract readers, they call it provocative journalism.

My Dad is 82 this January. He worked from age 15 to 70. He turned the family business around and created employment. He bought his parents out of debt and bought their rented home for them. He nursed them and my Mum’s parents when they were dying. At 60 he nursed my Mum through her death from cancer. When he retired at 70 the pensions he had contributed to his entire working life didn’t pay out. The ISSAs he invested in stole his money. Now at 81 he lives with my sister, who nurses him, despite having MS herself. Sadly now he requires specialist care and the home they share will have to be sold for his care. My sister will be made homeless. The family, who has struggled due to austerity, house prices etc will suffer more as a result; My sisters and I will lose the inheritance that Dad worked so hard to provide. We will end up more poor than my Dad’s parents. I dread to think of the future for their great grandchildren. What was my Dad’s working life for? My Dad voted Tory his whole life. #JC4PM

They also doctored the video of Bozo at the Cenotaph where, apparently, he appeared to be hungover, was dishevelled and laid his wreath upside down, they replaced the clip with another from a previous year. Corbyn has no choice but to stay neutral in the referendum debait. If he backs the losing side, his position would be untenable and he would be forced to resign. However labour's proposal for the second referendum is between remaining in the EU or being a vassal state forced to follow EU rule as the UK remains part of the EU customs union. This is ironic since most of labour's policies on renationalisation would be opposed by the EU.

@@thornbird6768 I think he knows labour's policies are incompatible with EU membership. I think he is a Eurosceptic leave voter,but if he manages to get into number 10 he wants to stay there. If he backs the wrong side he will have no choice but to resign. How can he lead a policy in which he does not believe. Cameron knew that and resigned. Mrs May failed to understand that and we all know what happened. As I have said repeatedly, labour has no intention of offering leaving the EU in any referendum. What they are offering is reversing article 50 and returning as a full member or turning the UK into a vassal state, closely tied to the EU, forced to follow it's rules, but with no say in setting them. This is no choice at all, only an idiot would vote for the latter. Even the most ardent brexiteer knows that. But Corbyn will either have to abandon the rest of his manifesto policies or expect a constant conflict with the EU. Too much of UK infrastructure and utilities are owned by EU companies for the EU to site back and watch as they are renationalised by labour. Nor will they allow labour to run up a huge national debt. That would endanger the UK cash cow status within the EU.

But under last labour gov growth rates were higher than this gov. Labour plan to raise corporation tax to 26 per cent. A middle rate for developed countries. Increased tax revenue will pay for increased health and education budgets. It is extreme to vote in another Conservative gov that have achieved nothing except political chaos. @Hui9697 4 года назад
Ha, there you go. You've just highlighted the ignorant or conceited belief of many across the world and especially in England. The English parliament is NOT English, it is BRITISH. So, when you ignorantly say, "I think you meant solely English one" I actually think YOU meant British. If England want a parliament then they need to create one like Scotland and Wales did. There's nothing stopping England going for independence from the rest of Britain but they like you wrongly think they are Britain. WRONG !

The stats dont agree with you and I think you will find that 62% of the Scottish population voted to remain so the SNP are doing exactly what they have been voted in to do.
