UK Forecast: Warm With Scattered Showers And Sunny Spells (Friday 17th May 2024) 

Good morning everyone and welcome to todays UK weather forecast on Friday 17th May 2024.
Current Situation: Low pressure is moving away to the south as a ridge builds to the north and west...
Today:
Friday begins on a mostly dry note with a few sunny spells and also areas of cloud. Temperatures have been very mild overnight.
Through the rest of the day most places will stay dry with bright or sunny spells but there will be a few scattered showers in places too. Many of the showers will be quite light but a few heavy one's could be mixed in, especially across southern Scotland where the hail and thunder are possible. Temperatures range from 15C to 22C so another fairly warm day.
Tonight:
Showers dying out this evening and most places will be dry overnight with clear spells and variable cloud. Watch out for a few mist and fog patches in places. By the end of the night more heavy showers will be arriving across East Anglia and south east England. Temperatures will be mild at 9C to 13C.
Tomorrow:
Heavy showers pushing westwards through southern parts of England and Wales where the odd rumble of thunder is possible. Central and northern regions should stay mostly dry with sunny spells and areas of cloud. There could be one or two scattered heavy showers, too. Temperatures warm again at 15C to 22C.
Outlook:
Sunday: Mostly dry with sunny spells and scattered showers. Warm.
Monday: Mostly dry with sunny spells. Warm.
Tuesday: Showers becoming more widespread . Warm.
