UK Gladiators - Series 4 1995 - Episode 15 - Final - 23rd December 1995
Here are the 1995 Gladiator finalists!
Mandy Beacher (Detective Constable (Police Officer) from Islington, London) versus Janet Allen (Sport development officer from Bristol)
Regan Pilkington (Computer engineer from Bolton, Greater Manchester) versus Mark Everitt (Techstyle machiner from Boston, Lincolnshire)
Notes: Out of all the events, Pyramid appears in the final of Gladiators.
It features Gauntlet in the Final as a core event with Duel, but it does not include Heat 3 which featured both of them.
It does not feature one of the two new events in the Final of Gladiators: Whiplash or Pendulum.
Prizes: Winners will each receive £5,000, a four wheeled drive Nissan UK LTD Jeep, a holiday in an Atlantis holiday complex on Paradise Island in the Bahamas, and the courtesy of going to compete in an international series, International Gladiators 2 1995. Runners-up will each receive £2,000.
Absent: Amazon, Nightshade, and Saracen.

Mark worked as a carer at a children's home i used to live at. He was very athletic and strong and has a massive heart with tons of charisma. love ya man x

@O'Shea I love you for uploading all these gladiators. I watched it as a kid, but have no memory of who won each series, so I am really enjoying watching them through. But can you PLEASE remove contestants from the thumbnails? For example, when I started watching season 4, I saw Mark in the grand final thumbnail, so the semi final, quarters was ruined because I already knew he won, so there was no excitement in watching them :(

There's something cathartic about Regan having such a miserable final. Some notable absences here. No Amazon, no Nightshade and no Saracen.

Amazon snapped a cruciate ligament on Pyramid in the heats, Nightshade was suffering with a virus picked up while filming the Ashes series in Australia, and Saracen injured an elbow in Powerball early in the series.

I have this whole complex system of determining who is the best gladiator. It has a lot to do with how well the gladiators kept the contenders from scoring. Here's how the women did 1. Zodiac 204.192 2. Vogue 188.32 3. Amazon 173.875 4. Lightning 170.436 5. Jet 155.15 6. Nightshade 142.667 7. Falcon 121.033 8. Panther 107.495 And now for the men 1. Hunter 170.622 2. Warrior 167.633 3. Rhino 163.175 4. Wolf 156.537 5. Cobra 143.781 6. Raider 130.884 7. Trojan 129.12 If you're wondering where Saracen is, he didn't compete in enough events to qualify. Where was Saracen this season. Also, I've heard some suspicions that Warrior threw his duel match against Regan. If that is the case, it cost him the chance to be Male Gladiator of the Year for the third straight season.

SARACEN had a shoulder injury from POWERBALL during the heats which was further aggravated in training so he had to miss out the majority of Season 4

Janet's Eliminator here was about 1:05-1:06 - one of the fastest times on this course - that makes a difference!

Fun fact: Regan is the only finalist in the show's history not to have a head start on any of his eliminators (heat, quarter final, semi final and final)

45:26 You can clearly see Janet breaking The Paper Burst before Mandy, maybe if Mandy hadn't been so low on The Rope Swing it could've been a different story, but certainly that HESITATION after coming off The Balance Beam costed Mandy dearly

For Mandy's Duel, she had the black stick and Panther the red one - I thought it was always the other way round i.e. contender red, Gladiator black.

It was a low scoring final but why oh why did Mandy in the ladies eliminator pause after coming off the beam with Janet so close behind if she took the travellator on without breaking stride she probably would've taken it but she doesn't and allows it to be neck and neck all the way up the travellator and then she gets a poor purchase at the top of it because her leg just slips whereas Janet is almost upright and that was where the title was lost and the reaction of her friends and family at 44:37 said it all if she didn't pause she would have got it.

She did that in at least 2 of the rounds before, think it was to make sure she was balanced before going up the Travelator but she obviously paid for it here.

I watched a different clip where Saracen was disqualified for stepping back into the other Gladiator’s section and yet here Lightning did the exact same thing and was not DQ’d! (In Gauntlet)

Literally think she won one on one events 4 times ever. Once in Season 1 in Danger Zone, once on Season 3 on Danger Zone and twice in Season 4 on The Wall and Suspension Bridge. Granted she usually got put on Powerball, Gauntlet and Atlaspheres but still not a good record. By Season 4 with Zodiac and Falcon improving hugely, Vogue making a good impression and by Season 5 when Rio and Rebel emerged, Panther really stood out as the weakest Gladiator.

@@mikestagraming Way better than Panther, Zodiac by Season 4 had a specialist event in Pendulum and had events she would win at. Trojan was a bit of a jack of all trades, a bit like Falcon and Scorpio but at least had some strong events like Powerball, Pyramid and Suspension Bridge. Panther wasn't really that good at anything.

She was there with the cast backstage, but didn't compete in the filming of several shows after the Tilt injury in heat 8 and she was recovering from a virus she picked up in Australia during the filming of The Ashes.

I remember watching this back then. And if you ask me I felt one contender Lawrence Jean-Baptiste should have been a finalist, but he stumbled during the quarterfinals against Mark Everitt.
