I am new to this. How many barleycorns on a twip? And how many shillings on a fathom?

I still use Miles and MPH when measuring Travel Distance or Speed and Fahrenheit when measuring Temperature here in Canada. My Dad also only understands those too. Metric is fine for people born after 1968 in Canada and the United Kingdom but it is useless for people born before 1969 which is a very high Population still alive.
