People like Prof Lucas are the real societal problem. His analysis appals me. Accepting behaviours such as this as a result of issues is simply not on. There is a minimum level of behaviour that can be tolerated in a society, irrespective of the underlying issues. Most of those issues are based on a 'too softly' approach to behaviour at all levels. Woke thinking has really taken us to a point where no reaction is appropriate or acceptable. We're in dark territory.

I live and work in community development in a town which is officially classed as super diverse in terms of multiculturalism. I won't say it's always super brill... We have problems with high levels of multiple deprivations but to be honest this was on the cards back some 50 odd years ago if one looks at social history long term. Right now we get along well... Co operation caring working with respect for each other and together for regeneration and better futures. I believe Leeds is similar and should nt be judged on this incident... Which needs to be properly investigated as the interviewee says and isn't a breakdown of multiculturalism (which is based on our shared values and experience and the common priority there is basic living needs met and living in peace safety) but a chance opportunity for troublemakers to get stuck in to making trouble.. Which is what they see as priority nin their lives until they have change of spirit.

Rioting is a community thing, and isn't race-related. There was rioting in Cardiff last year in a similar scale which involved mainly white British people. Football hooliganism in the UK is also almost exclusively perpetrated by white British.
