It's not just MCE, I've been riding 10 years and I've had the same problem with Swinton Insurance, Hastings Insurance and my dad has just cancelled his policy with Bennett's 6 months in due to not riding in the lockdown and they wanted half the price of the policy to cancel!!!! Insurance companies in the UK are essentially a cartel and the government is allowing it to happen.
About time something was done about insurance companies in the uk .....cancellation fees , amendment fees , stickers as modifications then pay you FA when you claim....Then shaft you for the next two years...robbing twats
Lexham insurance tries charging you £25 plus a premium for changing address so it's £285 or something crazy!!! And if you try cancel, they will still try to charge you.
I got 6 points on my driving licence and i gkt revoked but i passed my tests again however i cant insured on a car im now thinking to get a 125cc i have a full licence however i believe i have to do a cbt but when getting insured will i be able to find insurance even though i have 6 points and do it i have to declare it thank you...
It’s definitely cheaper than a car, my first insurance quote when I was 18 was a 2005 golf they wanted £4,500 with nothing on it and that is third party only the cars value was £800
Hear hear Brother ....they're ripping us off ...been with them nearly a year ,insured 3 bikes and been ripped off ....a won't give up until full revenge and peace of my mind would be settled for me !!!
£16 refund on £195 insurance for ybr125 for 4 months riding, n no insurance for fazer600. Bike sure will insure me for £204... Crazy so much money for nothing... this an dvla license requirements are why i'm not ready. Maybe moonday
I agree that motorcycle insurance is total rip off. Companies invent things charge you for " like management fee" etc but when you try to claim, they do not want to day you nothing back. You insure a bike for £1000 but they want give you £200 when someone else run over your bike. No it is rip off. That why I say just go third party. ( I used to pay for comp for years until I tried to claim, the broker claimed I was been unreasonable not accepting £200! and refuse to deal with me)
I've nor found my insurance to bad..I no I'm a late learner..done my c.bt at the age of 42 yep 42..only cos my brother gave me a scooter..first insurance for me was £76 yr only had it 2mnths got myself a 125 lexmoto diablo and after all the changing fees it's now £300 yr because of the charges..without them it would of been £186 yr..apparently it cost shed loads of money just to change bike details on a piece of paper
You do realise the price of insurance comes down to your experience, age and riding history right?? for example i know someone who is paying £1400 fully comp for that honda msx 125
was charged 60 a month by them for 125 moped. after 4 months my moped got stolen. sent all relevant documents then they wrote back to say i didnt send my keys!!! i had to seriously complain for months before i got a pay out. when i insured again they wanted 80 pound a month and thats with no fire or theft. robbing Bastards. paying alot less now but yeah they saw me coming!
