I’ve written this so many time, but it really is a shame that things like this just don’t get the views.. but some self absorbed lass can get millions of views for putting make up on to make herself look like a drag queen

Not to forget Lynx too, to manage deer numbers and allow more saplings to seed and establish - In turn providing habitat for insects, and food and nesting areas for birds.

Hmm if their dams block and inhibit any salmon or wild trout moving upstream to spawn on their redds in late autumn then that would get a thumbs down. Salmon are a vunerable species and much work is being done to enhance spawning and better survival of the newly hatched parr

@@simonartley1645 there is plenty of research that shows that as beavers and salmon trout coevolved they have no problem with beavers and their dams

Useful to know Gerard.People have been working hard to help with better salmon numbers and spawning on Eden.It is one of very few English rivers that see salmon entering in spring .Most head up Eamont . Much work being done in many tributary streams to improve the riverine environments after generations of slow decline.Much interest over the beaver but lets not get distracted by just focusing on that one species

@@JackoJ15Wolves in Europe mainly predate sheep not deer, counter-intuitively. However they do probably keep moving them on and away from open areas, allowing young saplings to grow. I doubt lynx could predate deer or sheep though, but happy to be corrected.

Swindale is probably my favourite place in the Lakes, it deserves to be much better known. Brilliant to see what is being done to improve the natural capital there.
