This accomodation is a lot better than some born and bred british people have to live in what about the british homeless who cant get any where because our hotels are full of imigrants which pushes tourists to air ba nd bs which should be being used as rented homes for our own people i hope starmer gets his comeuppance (not sure thats a word) sooner rather than later
If we process the claims we can send a large percentage of them back, but right now we are paying to keep people here we can legally deport. The tories stopped processing claims and created the back log in the first place.

Processing claims quicker means housing them in council houses or hotels, which means they get put ahead of taxpayers. Isn't that backwards and unfair. And that solves absolutely f all as they will keep coming in greater numbers knowing their claims are faster and they get a council house quicker.

Why don’t you just go to Dover and pretend to be an asylum seeker from somewhere (that you can pass off as visually). The processing will take months but you will have a place to stay till then. 😅
That's what they are. They are here seeking asylum. They may or may not receive it - that decision takes time. Until the decision is made, they are asylum seekers.
quite rare to hear anything about Helping British people lately. Clearly the priority is Ukraine, asylum seekers, illegal migrants, LGBT and anyone else who is contributing to the decline of this nation.
i live in lincoln , and i heard that som of them who get from guverment weekly allowence. Pays for your food or petrol to use up the card balance for cash, then buys drugs with it.

People don't understand that the main issue is not about housing, but the government isn't processing asylum claims fast enough. Asylum seekers only stay at temporary housing while their claims are being processed, once there's a decision they will be forced to leave. The goal was giving a decision in 6 months, now it often takes 2-3 years, that means 4-6 times of housing is required, hence the crisis in housing. What the government should do is processing claims faster, so the people that are eligible can start a new life and those not legible can be deported sooner. That way the pressure on housing will be reduced, and the real asylum seerks can get to work and start contributing to society.
I disagree, there has been and still is a shortage of affordable housing, been that way for decades. Secondly, they are NOT asylum seekers, they are just FREELOADERS..

We live on Portland, three miles from the barge - information from local friends and helpers of those accommodated there say there have been several suicides. However the matter has ‘not been publicised’. The conditions are said to be dire with three people living in rooms originally intended for single occupancy. Let us all treat others with decency and respect whatever our political affiliation.
Give me Yvette Coopers job..... 1. ALL arriving migrants will be given a Temporary NI number and bank account. 2. ALL arriving migrants will have ZERO access to free housing or benefits for 10 years 3. Asylum seekers and illegal migrants will be processed by Customs officers within 12 weeks of arrival and must meet strict eligibility to remain in the country..... (No criminal record, have valid reason for settlement in the UK, be able to work full-time, willing to take any job, willing to be educated about British culture, report weekly to sign migrant register.) All failed asylum seekers must be returned to their own country immediately. With or without a passport. 4. No family member can join migrant for 5 years and will fall into category 1 & 2 immediately upon arrival. 5. All authorised migrants with Visas will have to renew applications on a yearly basis. When do I start? Let's see how many boats come across the channel after that lot. 😂
