$500+ a week does seem a lot, but, nearly half of your total spend went on van-juice. The indepencence that that offered was, I think, well spent & justifiable. All of those off the beaten tourist track has made your trip in the UK somewhat unique. Well done. Most enjoyable.

So that's about $72 a day which is really good. Most people when they travel to Britain do maybe a week and stay in hotels and rent a car. It's good to track what you spend but you'll have memories for a lifetime.
I was shocked you only get 16mpg out of your van. I get 38mpg out of mine, That would have destroyed your budget for sure. You have seen places in the UK I haven't, mainly because of the price of fuel. They don't call it rip off Britain for nothing. France and Spain are better for Van life so I hope you have a cheaper experience there. Just avoid Switzerland or at least fill the van up with gas in France and do a shop before you go in. Have fun.
Yeah the MPG is definitely a killer 😂 over in Europe we are driving much less than we did in the UK, so we will hopefully save a little money there!!! Thanks for watching 😁
I can’t believe they imported a van from the US, mileage is going to be a concern and the fact it would be difficult to find a European van (don’t sell that one here) that doesn’t use diesel. Mileage should be way better than that in this day and age, and compared to the US gas/petrol is way higher but if they’re expecting it to be much cheaper on the continent it won’t be hugely different until you get to Eastern European countries. On the upside, groceries are much cheaper in Europe, so being a little strategic with what is bought could bring food expenses down considerably. If they have an external mains power supply socket on van, it may be worth paying for a night once a week in a caravan/motorhome site and fill up on electricity and fresh water because it’s always included in the cost - tho since they brought a van over from the us they’ll likely need a inverter. I really question the wisdom of shipping that van into Europe, mileage expectations, just the size of it in narrow European roads, fuel type (you can get unleaded obv, but it’s what Americans would consider high octane and that van ain’t designed for that), it’s done now but it was a mistake in my opinion. Still, sure it’s all an adventure and tho they haven’t posted in a while they must be somewhere on the continent now hopefully having a great time.

You guys spent so much bringing your van over here. But it uses double the fuel of European vehicles. Would you both not been better to hire one over here for the time here and then another maybe for France. Better still. Correspond with Dan and Buy a homemade camper van here . . The saving on fuel alone would halve, But no shipping costs either. Not sure how it would work, But could you of made it work.
