You'll never convince me that these dogs are any better at beagling than my little guy 😄. He tracks all the barbecue, squirrels, and cats wherever he goes, even when he's sleeping. . . which is often.
Fun video! I don't have a lot of experience hunting, but I have a couple of beagle-terrier mixes (Daisy's a beagle/rat terrier, about 20 pounds, and Barkley is a beagle/Jack Russell, about 40 pounds) who love nothing more than to spend a day out hunting in the woods. I wonder about the terrier side's killer instinct as my pups regularly catch rabbits (or any other rodent that crosses their paths). I'm curious if they'd hunt well with you guys. Barkley is a bit on the gun shy side, so that may scrap his usefulness in real hunting situations, but, man, is he fast! I've seen him run down rabbits and take care of them with his "head shake o' death". Daisy, the beagle/rat terrier has no issues with guns. These videos were all shot in or around a local dog park (Orion Oaks Dog Park on Oakland County, MI), so I didn't have any firearms with me. Can't see them in this video, but they're having some serious fun here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Fo1iIDhAgGU.html And here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sOQC7br4Eqc.html They missed this one: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TmCEu4Tby7s.html Oh, and Barkley is a dog with some interesting talents. Here he is eight or nine feet up a tree (he may be gun shy, but he has an amazing predatory drive!!!). Just interested in any feedback you may care to offer.
