Apologies.the first one was a spectacular failure.
The mistake was that I thought that since it was fabric, it would stretch a little. Ukebari does not stretch.
The second one turned out well.
In the second installment, we will explain this apology and the name and material of Ukebari.
Many book about weapons were published during the Edo period. Here we have selected three books as reference materials. "Nerikawasiki" "shukojushu" "chukokachuseisaku-no-ben".
The cloth or leather used to protect the head when wearing the helmet is called ukebari.
Ukebari is also called ukeura or uchibari. It seems that painted leather is often used for the leather, and the fabric used is indigo-dyed navy blue linen or, in modern times, crepe.
This was my first time making a Ukebari. I failed.
The second one turned out well. I think anyone can make it.
