I was gob smacked but I think the dude was hurt the most, he was probably trying to earn money for his family trying right by at least them only to realize that it's all he is to her money. I know homes can be impoverished and the russians who fight in Ukrainian are intentionally from rural and impoverished areas to make sure the cities aren't affected by the war to keep polling in putins favour but that was cold.
I'm not excusing her in the slightest - she is beyond appalling - but I'm also wondering whether it's common knowledge in the rf by now that Ukrainian prisoner camps are good places to be, where captives are well fed and receive medical attention. Some of the guys who got swapped must have come back healthier than they were when they left... probably why putin doesn't want to swap anymore
@@1midnightfish It won't be common knowledge because all information coming out of the war in Ukraine is strictly controlled by the RF state. However, those that were POW's in Ukraine that have returned home and their immediate families will know.

Excellent channel, run by a lovely bloke who started out selecting interesting intercepts and translating them for foreign audiences, with extra explanations when needed. He also trawls through russian social media, and has translated several threads where people, mostly women but also soldiers and veterans, discuss mobilisation and other topics without much of a filter. I'm sure the info about how well POWs are treated in Ukraine has spread much further than the kremlin would have liked

@@annphillips1086 I'm saying that if the freedom of russia legion cannot recruit this guy, who has been abandoned by his family, his army, and his country...who could they recruit? we know the fate of former POWs in russia is bleak. he will likely be imprisoned after he is exchanged. even if he isn't he will be branded a coward and shunned. what future does he have? he would still need to be willing to put the work in. put down the vodka. not trash your AO. no more stealing toilets. given the right motivation and training, maybe he goes home and frees his country. even to try is worth it.

I changed the setting on Y.T. to .5 speed so I had time to read the CC clips. Mother was more concerned about getting her kilo(2.lb chicken) over getting her son back. He is serving time in Ukraine POW camp so he ain't DEAD, so she don't get no money or bird. Seems he has to be dead and also release PIN code for her to access his account. What has surprised me almost more than anything is the degeneracy and cruelty of the Russians. I live in Canada, and such things never occurred to me, but my eyes have been opened (unwillingly) to a genetic streak in the character. Unbelievable and incredibly sad. Take care yourself.
Is it genetic, or just long-term conditioning? Hopefully the latter, therefore reversible. But you do sort of wonder what there is in some people that makes peaceful co-existence more scary to them than war.

For years everyone was afraid of Russia's might. Ukraine has proved that we were wrong. They aren't powerful and have no idea how to conduct war, as Ukraine has again show.
