I am a pacifist, I was raised as a pacifist by my parents, but I wish that other countries from Europe and the Nato would support Ukraine with military equipment and even soldiers. I don't want a World War, I don't think any sane person wants that, but leaving the Ukrainian people alone against this unjustifiable attack from such a powerful enemy just feels wrong and sickening ...

100% democratic societies need to put pressure on their government to support Ukraine militarily, not only because they may be the next targets, but to show that the values of freedom and democracy are not empty words for them. This is the moment to demonstrate resolve. Putin said himself that this is also the war against these exact values. He might be crazy but not crazy enough to destroy the planet.

Protests are all over the world including in Russia where more than 10.000 russians were arrested. @@Askorias No, Putin isn't that crazy. He's doing this because the threat of Ukraine joining NATO was becoming very real, which means he'd lose pretty much the only real foothold Russia has in Europe while also allowing for the west to theoretically expand eastward. They'd be able to place weapons in critical positions against Russia's borders. This is also why he's shown interest in certain Nordic countries since they also border to Russia and haven't joined NATO yet either. I don't think he's crazy enough to start WW3, but he probably sees no problem with invading Ukraine since he knows the west are too cowardly to do anything significant about it.

It is sickening, but it really seems like there is no short term military solution that doesn't risk all out war in Europe, if not nuclear war: Putin and Russia must be fought over the long-run by other means than direct force, such as by the whole world squeezing them so much until his own people turn on him. But unfortunately the Ukrainian people, militarily, are on their own. That's just the way it is.

Its great how brave ukranians are and how much they want freedom for their country but it also shows how students from different nationalities are facing racism, discrimination by ukranians and polish police and army at the borders..These people are human beings and they are just trying to escape and should be equally treated in this 21st century.

This is why I feel like countries should have mandatory military training for able young people (like South Korea, Turkey etc... have) , not only to have a large reserve but for skill and emotional development too. My country had it when my father was young he spoke about how all people regardless of rich or poor would come together in civil duty, rebuild towns, do community work and train for any defence. Of course there are people who will disagree with me but idk, it can be pretty useful

It's amazing yet sad at the same time. Ordinary people trying to protect their country against what is a blight upon them. I have to feel though that many will probably not come back as they are going up against a hardened, professional army. These people are incredibly brave and need to be recognized forever.

Although they lack formal military training, they make up for it in the strong passion to defend their homeland. Guerrilla warfare is easy to pick up, even for an untrained individual. Not to mention they have the home field advantage which makes it easier to attack, then move positions and attack again. This will not be an easy victory for Russia unless they carpet bomb the city.

They stuck in my head then and now. Ukraine is a Nation of amazing, brave and strong people. Man watching this got really emotional for me. The stories my dad told me when he and his two brothers joined the Cambodian army to fight off the communist leader Pol Pot in the early 70's. He never heard of his brothers ever again after that when he fled the country to America with my mom. My prayers are with the people of Ukraine 🙏
