My somewhat soulful rendition of a tune that was composed in 1863 by Ukrainian, Mykhailo Verbytsky, and was officially adopted as the music for the national anthem in 1992. Since Russia's barbaric invasion of Ukraine in 2022, the tune has become very well known around the world.
The video image entitled "Waiting for Spring I" is a print by American artist, Oksana Gruszka. She was born and educated in Ukraine, but currently lives and has her own gallery in Savannah, Georgia USA. I chose the image for its powerful depiction of a child waiting, a metaphor for all who want the horrific madness of this war to stop.
