In the eastern Ukrainian city of Bakhmut, 15 kilometres from the positions held by Russian forces, an artillery unit from the 58th motorised infantry brigade, waits for the signal. "Ready!" The four soldiers put their hands over their ears. "Fire!" Bakhmut, in the Donbas, has been the scene of active fighting for the last four months. It is said to be one of the longest and most lethal battlefields for both sides, though there is no estimate of the exact losses.

One little part doesn't add up. That appears to be an M777 howitzer in the vid, and the Russians don't use compatible 155mm shells, nor in general shells that explode in the air. So they may have captured shells from taking land somewhere, but those shells they're firing come from NATO supplies.

Only about $18 billion tops from the U.S., and the M777 howitzer is a small part of that. Only $3-4 million for the howitzer + tow truck.

Not with this unit obviously. Of course Ukraine needs to fight with all the old stuff they have and all the modern stuff they can get. There is enough proof that all the money and equipment that was given by the USA and other allies is badly needed and being put to use in the fight for freedom against the ruzzian agressor!

If you look at the chart of equipment ' promises ' you will see that the enormous size of the US package dwarfs the rest of the world. Much of the European equipment is already in theatre. The US is flying 10-12 planes a day to Poland, so as stated above only a portion has been sent. Wars of this scale take a long time to supply, and when you consider the distance it's a logistics miracle. Slava Ukraine !!

@@als4817 There's got to be a major logistics bottleneck within Ukraine. Not much of a logistics miracle on the NATO side, spared of any bombing yet sending such small quantities of most materiel. Some of the stuff can go via ships/rail, too, not sure why there'd be 10-12 flights daily after 8 months of war. Send some of that extra fuel to Ukraine or rest of Europe? Consider that Russian logistics has so far transported many times more weight to their front line, though it's less territory within Ukrainian to cross. Their shells are inaccurate so they have to use several times more just for parity.
