I think there is a major problem for the Russians. It clear they should be on the offensive. If the are on defensive something is really going wrong for them.
Sounds like wishful thinking rather than an accurate analysis of the war. Time will tell. Remember Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan when the reports kept on saying victory is right around the corner.
They know exactly where this is headed. It’s not wishful thinking on their part but active propaganda. They believe they’re weakening Russia at a relatively cheap cost.
@@DataWaveTaGohe’s talking about the post 9/11 incursion, genius. The first incursion hurt the USSR, it also led to the birth of Al Qaida, 9/11, the Iraq war, thousands of lives lost on both sides, ISIS and a global resurgence in Islamic terrorism.
On thé Minsk Agreement, the ambassador was factually inaccurate. Ukraine and the West never wanted to implement the agreement. It was a delaying tactic and Russia was hoodwinked.
That right White Russians are enslavers of White People of Europe. No free speech, no Civil Rights. White Russians take away the "Civil Rights of White people". LOL hahahahahahahahaha 😂
Duda: "Ukraine is unable to go on the offensive". You can imagine a magnitude of Zelenskyy failure, when even Duda starts to talk like this. At this point unconditional surrender is the only practical solution for Ukraine . Hitler's Germany also refused to admit defeat until Hitler killed himself, then Keitel signed unconditional surrender.
Clearly USA and NATO failed. Ukraine doing very well considering the sloppy support restrictions. This is the 5th foreign adventure by successive administration. By the way I carried a rifle in the first one bronze star, CIB, and air medal. Mr Bremmer was once a senior State official so is partially responsible.
This is actually quite obnoxious. As Bremmer well knows, being a historian, the US lost piles of battles in WWII before finally succeeding, and even then with massive help from the Soviets. So to expect Ukraine, which has been badly disserved by the West dribbling and drabbing weapons, is a bit on the sadistic side of the spectrum.
I admit it does sound odd. However, we've already sent 2 MILLION 155mm shells. That is a lot for any military, especially given that the U.S. traditionally emphasizes the use of air power over 'old fashioned' artillery. I also think sending cluster munitions serves two additional purposes. First, with each shell scattering ~88 mini explosives over an area the size of a football field, they are far more effective in trench warfare than traditional shells. Second, I think the U.S. was planning to get rid of them anyway. Aiding Ukraine serves both purposes. Besides, Russia has been using them against Ukrainian CIVILIANS..
@@jezalb2710 so how does the sanctions performed now it has been almost 2 years? They just pretty much gave the Russian market China, in return a poorer Europe
Well, if there are peace talks then there is the question of giving the Russians things that they want. There are three items on the table: 1. Crimea is a part of Russia. 2. Ukraine is militarily neutral and will not join NATO. 3. The ethnically Russian part of Ukraine needs partial autonomy at the very least. If Russia does not get these things then there will be no peace talks. And that means fighting to the bitter end. We are very likely going to have a situation where American moral sensibilities prevent talks over the three things. We have been in that situation for years so that is why I know. Instead we are going to feed Ukraine enough weapons to fight but not enough to win. We are going to have a situation in the 2020s where it becomes evident that USA will not and can not provide a military, political or economic answers to the Ukraine crisis. European interests are not getting anything out of this war, but we have to go along because we are in NATO. I would be incredibly surprised if NATO survives to 2030. It is time to let NATO go.
Disappointing results? Good thing you weren't around to discuss the progress of D-Day. We had all the resources of the entire world in place and could barely get off the beaches for months. Yes, it will take more time but a break is coming. Surprisingly it may come more to the west than the south and east. Even the russians can only fight so long without adequate water, food, rest, and military supplies.
No. The Normandy invasion went as planned. The Allies secured a port and began landing troops and equipment immediately, and when they had a large superiority in numbers, they broke out. That was always the plan. Ukraine is 1/3 the size of Russia by population and economy. It's like Ukraine is Mexico and Russia is America. America is never going to lose a war to Mexico, and Ukraine is never going to overcome Russia. It's a Western pipe dream.
I wanted to watch this but its so america focused. its horrible. ukrain wanted to negotiate months ago then the US put them in a corner "if you dont fight on, we will not help you later" the country can not be saved let alone rebuilt. america stay at home leave europe to the europeans you have absolutely nothing to do here.
That is absolutely nonsense. The US is currently the weak link, together with a handful European nations. Currently even Germany is more hawkish than the US, and Ukraine has no interest in nor any benefit from negotiating with Putin.
@@jaxvoice718 Another stupid comment. The weak link which has contributed 10 times more weapons than all the other contributors combined... Idiotic! Could the US do more, absolutely but so could the rest of NATO too. Germany has thousands of Taurus missiles laying around, how many have they "donated"? The US has supplied more 155mm rounds a month than all other countries during the whole conflict!
Great guest. Ian is following mainstream memes and not the grinding but successful attrition of Russian capabilities on the ground: look at the degredation of Russian artillery and counter-battery equipment and the killing of high ranking Russian soldiers. Ukraine have significantly overperformed even if that's not yet showing in territory gained because they face 170,000 sq km of mines.
