We have the military helping the homeless daily. If not helping refugees or other missions. Some states have seen a decrease in homeless. My state of Virginia has and this was before youngkin was governor. A very few Afghan refugees in my county went on to help serve food the homeless at mosques. I’ve spoken to many homeless folks in WV and VA. A few said they don’t want to get a real job and would rather just stay on streets or in a shelter.
@Craig Miller Haitian medical cases get to skip to line over other Haitians. Their biological family members too. My parent’s Haitian coworker was able to get to his family members out of Haiti in 2021. His family members are all residing in the U.S. now. In the past, the Haitian reunification task force was able to reunite family members in the U.S. Haitians who don’t have desperately medical treatment unsure their status.

Yes, it’s clear people are being treated differently because of their race. Not surprised at all. I live on the Northern border, and we have many, many undocumented white folks here, but ICE targets POC. I witnessed it personally, myself. Many times, I’ve been asked for my papers.

All those fighting age Ukrainian men fleeing Ukraine! And I dont blame them! Had enough money to fly full families to Mexico with ready passports unlike the majority of Ukrainian refugees. Why didn't they just stay in the safe haven country they fled to first because they are not flying out of Ukraine that's for sure! Dentray is saying they're using this circumstance to their benefit to come into the U.S. as refugees. They were already refugees in other countries, but they still wanted to immigrate to U.S. I understand that some may have family here that will take them in, and they have no fault for being prioritized over South American and Haitian migrants. But it's a very flawed and political system.

Why would non white people live in Ukraine if it's such a racist place. I've seen countless interviews with non whites living in Ukraine. And they've said that most hostility towards them is coming from the older generations. Younger Ukrainians treat them no differently than their own countrymen, and actually go out of their way to make them feel welcome. Ukraine is starting to elect non white Ukrainians into positions of power, which shows they are changing; slowly but they've come a long way. As for blocking them at first, let me ask you this: if India had to evacuate their citizens because of an invasion, who do you think they'll let go first? Hindus or non Hindus? Indians or non Indians? Light skinned Indians or dark skinned Indians? Not saying that blocking foreigners is okay, but it's human instinct to want to protect your own first. It's been that way for as long as humanity has existed. We are only just now beginning to grasp the idea that everyone should be given the same status treatment.
I was there all week to help humanitarian volunteers , many of the Ukrainians staying in a local church and some in hotels paid by friends or family members that live in the US , that`s what i did , i paid for the hotel for my friends and waited until they got in , 250 people a day come in from that list , they are very organized and lots of help from volunteers from all over US
Yes I watch Border Network News and he was very complimentary of the Ukrainian people being very organized, clean, neat, quiet staying in their area. Putting their trash in trash cans or bags and stacking them neatly on the curb.Helping each other. Then he said they're a different culture. He said his mom taught him to be respectful wherever he was. He said in four years of reporting on caravans he'd never seen this. The same day he showed the other group attacking the National guard. Blocking roads . Trashing the place. Being loud and demanding. His words a difference of night and day.

They invented red tape! And they don't hate eachother--the ones in TJ are on the same side (as they were for years)--they know how to work together. I don't know why they are calling them migrants. They are asylum seekers. And deserving of it. AND they are tough! They can hold their own, even if they have to spend a night sleeping on the sidewalk. I can't tell what is more shocking--the stupidity of Americans who don't understand the history of the USSR, or the stupidity of the Americans who don't know the difference between their situation now vs. for example, the Haitians or other Central or South Americans who are showing up not understanding the difference between their situation and why they will likely be turned away. And I am including the reporters in all of this. Everyone hears "Mexico" and thinks that all the stories are the same.

I was watching Law and Border and the border patrol officer was saying only one out of ten on those caravans qualify for asylum.
I wish the same courtesy at times could have been shown to those who are different from those with white skin, blonde hair or blue eyes aswell. I’m glad these people are being accepted and getting the help they need.
I myself have taught English to many refugees. I do not know a single one who grudges these people, not a single one who regards them as being in some sort of suffering competition the way you disgustingly present. Why are the neighbours of those people with dark skin not taking them in? Sometimes it is poverty but mostly it is that they do not want them. Look at the wealthy Arab countries and look at how few refugees they take from the middle east and north Africa, compared to far-off Europe.
Funny repeat: I used to work in a poor Mexican village called- Francisco Zarco - v. back in 1917 about 80 miles SE of Tijuana Mexico. This village as you may see- isn't a Spanish name but- Russian! For wayyy back in 1917 when the Bolsheviks took over Russia and their own Civil war began then too millions fled. Thereby here the Mexican Gov. gave Those Russian refugees a 'parcel of land and a 50 years lease'! Those Russians- "turned their little valley into something that looked like a typical Russian village, i.e. small well made houses with white picket fences, orderly 'rows of farmed land' and people wearing traditional clothing as I saw the original photos!! Unfortunately after the 50 year lease was up- Mexican Officials "moved-in"- ceased the local wealth and the town essentially died from what it had been! I came into the picture in 1987 when it was just a typical poor Mexican dirt-strip of a village with just a few Mexican's that had some Russian leftover 'traits' of -Red hair and white freckled completions!!

First there were reports of Russians leaving to escape living under hardships of sanctions. Later people who didn't want to be forced to fight for Russia started leaving, then dissenters. They are leaving by choice, unlike the Ukrainians who are actually being bombed out of their country, ordinary people purposely targeted. They are the ones who need immediate help.

The people from Ukraine are in an emergency situation, with no country or infrastructure left standing. They are a priority. Many nations will have to take them in temporarily. Also one huge difference, the men of Ukraine have stayed to fight for their country, many returning from all over the world to help also. So many other times men have just left instead of staying and making changes in their own country, or fighting for it. At times they've even left the women behind, running for their own safety.
So you're completely ignoring all the Russians who fled their country after being arrested for protesting the war cause they face a minimum of 15yrs in prison? All of the Russians at the border in March were political refuges NOT economic refuges. Most Russians aren't here due to sanctions, CAUSE THEY CANT LEAVE THERE COUNTRY DUE TO AIRLINE SANCTIONS, so how the hell are they here if they are escaping said sanctions....

There are over 2 milion ukrianian refugees in European countries, mostly Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Hungary and Czech republic. As you see 80% if them stay in neighboring countries, not in richer European countries like UK. That is the main difference between these refugees and migrants from Middle east. About USA there is small number that want to go there.

asylum means you are escaping a brutal war or your government is trying to kill you . economic migrants are different . that is why syrians , afghan, cubans , ukrianians were allowed its not rocket science . almost 2 billion people are poor and if you open borders to economic migrants usa does not have enough money to take in 100s of millions of people . we have homeless people here

Heard that there are many families in Russia trying to leave that have young men who are turning or are already conscription age. Russians are consistently getting denied due to Putin. Haitians with severe medical conditions like cancer, heart diseases, etc get to skip the line even their healthy biological family members. The only problem with is that any and everybody come into the country that may not even be asylum seekers they can just say that they are and you don’t know who we’re letting in and there’s also other countries that can help not just the United States, A country should always be able to help their own people, by protecting the people and keeping the country safe as well
Other countries are helping. The us is only letting in 100k people, which is incredibly small compared to other countries like Poland. And they actually vet everyone that wants to come in, which is why the process is so slow. Finally, how is the Ukraine supposed to help its people while Russia is bombing them?
As weather gets hotter I can’t imagine these people being able to stay outside in the sun like that. Russia and Ukraine are significantly colder places, this can feel like a heat wave
