The rockets could be braced by pieces of wood, a box, or any other object. A slow fuze would set off the rocket long after the Vietcong had left the area.

Look carefully at the attack on the helicopter. It looks more like an ATGM. It doesn’t matter really, the kill was achieved. An ATGM warhead is a lot bigger and guarantees a total, catastrophic kill. Kill with a capital “K”.
