Yes cause they stopped in a kill zone, hasty mine field did its job. Slowed them up. Anti tank mines can be fitted with a mouse trap that detonates the mine from the bottom.

There are two ways to booby trap them with a pressure mechanism which means you have to dig the road and then place the mine on top the mechanism or a release mechanisms in which you've got to dig underneath as well otherwise the cord is visible... that's why they are kicking them...a soldier with proper training would never lay mines like this

@@Enforcer_WJDE but this very much does. The idea is that if soldiers step on them they wont explode and "waste" their potentional but only explode under tanks. But as literally shown in the vid they are useless wout camo
Sometimes the purpose of a minefield is not to surprise the enemy, but just to force them to deal with it while you shoot at them. If in this clip there was a machine gun or a tank shooting at the soldiers they wouldn't be able to dismantle the minefield before going through it, because they would get shot wihle trying, so the soldiers and their tanks would be forced to run straight through the minefield risking being blown to pieces if they wanted to advance.
What type of cartoonish shit would they do to hide those on the road put a fake tunnel right in front of the mines so the soldiers think their entering a dark cave? 😂
This is called a mine barrier, behind which a position with infantry is established. The infantry will not allow mines to be cleared so easily. The mine barrier will not allow heavy equipment to immediately reach the infantry position.
yeah because the enemy soldiers were already pushed away in other areas. they are just clearing the mines left in the backlines. when this was the front they couldnt go trough there, as it would mean having to exit the vehicle to clear the mines, leaving them voulnerable to being shot
Why do you people always become so arrogant? You forget, these mines stopped the Western Wonder weapons like Leopards dead in their tracks. A mine made in a cheap factory from the soviet era destroying an Expensive Piece of German Engineering. Imagine.
@@ysl6549ukrainian drivers test: now with the current war, new law requires you to learn evasive maneuvers so uhh just drive around the anti vehicle mines real quick.

It's even less of a chance than winning the lottery for these to explode via nudging with your foot. So yes, "safety" is a strong - yet correct - word in this case. Until you stand directly on it or drive on it, it's safe. They're an extremely stable form of explosive which requires a specific trigger-mechanism to ignite.

They use visible anti tank mines to control enemy heavy traffic. For example when enemy sees that there is mines, they would rather take that route where isn’t at least visible mines. And that route is where ambush is wating for enemy arrival
There's a story about russian military. One instructor was teaching a class of recruits about these tank mines, first showing how to activate one, then saying a man doesn't make it explode when he stands on it. To prove his point he jumped up and stomped both of his feet on the mine. Then there were no class anymore because boom.
Yeah, I fear Ruskis might start to put disguised mines in there out of spite. We all know what bunch of peasant rabble they are, they're totally not ashamed of doing something like this
LONG STORY SHORT:they are anti tank mines that can only be triggered when an amount of weight on it, so therefore the soldiers can kick them without exploding.
@@WasntYourFaultYouHaveToLetMeGoyes it does, those mines are duds made specifically to be very visible so that the soldier would go and move them thinking they are anti tank mines, hovewer among them there are real mines hidden that will expload when a human touches or moves them... @@bigmviperplayz253it’s not meant to destroy tanks it’s meant to shut down logistics. If they wanted to destroy tanks they’d burry them under dirt or something. In this case, they need a full team to go in and clear the road before it can be used again
These are anti-tank mines, pressure plate is on top, if you bury the mine, they have a spot for a "mouse trap." that will make it harder to remove without detonation. You would bury them with the pressure plate just below the surface.
So you know that one thing about a room Full of mouse traps is that if 1 mouse trap activates and then sets off the chain reaction of all mouse traps, but with landmines the ones close might just get destroyed before exploding just causing then to launch then exploding after hitting the ground.. or the ones kinda at a “safe” point it could activate the others..

these mines were placed by Ukranians on one of the roads leading to Kiev. They were passively moving them because by that point the Russians had retreated out of the north.

During war you don't have the luxury of double/triple checking everything. When you're spotted by the drone, it can be minutes before artillery starts pounding your location. So every second counts.

More like "those three soldiers making bets about how them together would not detonate the mine" If you want to know who did win, it was the whole platoon.
Even a sufficiently heavy tank wouldn't just jump from 0 pounds all the way up to 1211. As the tank drives onto the mine, it would apply all values ramping up between 0 and 1211, as only part of the tank would be on the mine at first.
Arent these soldiers pushing them from the side, so of course they dont explode then. Maybe these mines could explode, if the soldiers stand top of it full weight, that it would be enough to trigger it, but these soldiers are not stupid to do that.

Anti personnel mines are a war crime because they aren’t guaranteed they will blow up soldiers. A civilian could get killed. Which is why they are only using tank mines. NATO could step in if they started using something like prox mines in a large scale.

There is often a secondary fuze holder on the bottom with a hidden firing pin. The enemy can tie it with a string so the mine explodes when the string is pulled. The string can be attached to a tree or even to a second mine hidden in a hole under the visible mine.
Those are used only when the mine is buried. The device connects to the bottom of the mine to keep it from just being dug up. I have a combat engineer hand book from the army that shows all this. And was even in a class that was about land mines and their placement and installation of anti handling devices. 15 years army ranger.
I mean hell he taught me. Why are those mines placed there out in the open like that? While yeah it slows down any vehicles is 5 minutes of times of time is it really worth it? Unless they had like coverage ready to open fire knowing they would have to walk out and remove them. Whats the real reason? Stupidity or what?
@@mistplayzopWell it's not as simple as a 5 minute mine removal now is it. You have to: stop the vehicles and back them out, secure the area with infantry, exposing yourself to enemy fire and for ex. enemy claymores. Not to mention that if the enemies are, in fact, in position, they are able to exploit you having to stop to use their anti-vehicle weapons more effectively. So in essence, a few of those stupid looking minefields can slow an advance to a crawl and offer you advantageous opportunities to engage the enemy with very low cost and low risk solution.
