People don't realize the real reason why tiktok was blocked for russian users: it was one of the places where information about ukraine was able to reach russian citizens. And who owns tiktok? China, who's besties with Russia.

The personal side of this conflict is unimaginable. My best friend is an ex-pat Russian. His Ukranian relatives have cut him off for being Russian... his Russian relatives have cut him off for not supporting "legitimate Russian self-defense". Even beyond all the people killed on both sides, the hatred will poison them for decades.

I saw a video of a woman crying after she found out her baby died of shrapnel. It broke me. 💔 😔. My ♥ goes out to the Ukrainian people 🙏

Trevor I'm Ukrainian and I live currently in Greece. I brought my mom and granny from Ukraine. I ran like a dog to one embassy to another to do that! I feel happy that people all around the world are seeing how brave and strong are the ukrainian people. I am most grateful for the people, simple like me and you are supporting us and stand with us! You can't say " war in Ukraine" on russian tv, you can only use "military operation"

At Russian dinner parties they wouldn't say they heard: "the war is going great". As news outlets can only call it a "special military operation" and not a war.

Watching this made me realize how much the outcome of this war is inflenced by social media. All of those protestors in occupied cities would be dead. That guy on the tank would be dead. We seem to focus on the negative impacts of social media, but here it's literally saving lives and maybe even a country.

Actually, Trevor - tanks do have means to deal with people climbing on them, or coming too close in general. They have small, armored openings in their turrets - crew inside can throw grenades out of them. Explosion will not harm the tank, but will very much harm anyone *on* it. Hopefully no one will do it in the middle of the crowd of civilians.

Any country is as strong as its people. Be strong Ukraine and let this be remembered and never forgotten.

I cannot understand the mindset of anyone who'll believe their state media over their own child/family. If their kid dies in one of Russia's attacks on civilians will they still insist that there's no war and their kid is still alive?

It is an absolute disaster and it breaks my heart A war waged by Russia on Ukraine, both of which my country once invaded with horrible devastation for both of them. Happening in front of our doorstep (living in Berlin) and there is little more to do but demonstrate, donate, assist. Friends from L'viv hang in there but as they say "something has broken inside". I hope that the world would open its eyes ALSO to Palestine, Syria, Rohingya, and other oppressed groups in the world. To be honest, in some countries, the Russian invasion of Ukraine got some kind of reaction "meh", because they don't see the same sanction were given to other oppressors.

The Ukraine & Russia crisis In simple terms for those that have no idea what is going on. -Ukraine used to be in an abusive relationship with Russia, feeding him, letting him use her car & giving him whatever he asked for until she built up the confidence to call it quits back in 1991 -Since then Ukraine has been working on herself, becoming a strong independent woman with help from friends like France, America, Poland etc. offering her support, loaning her money, & helping her find her way. -Ukraine has been enjoying being single for 30 years & looking forward to continuing to grow & create new friendships. -Now Russia being the toxic Ex that it is wants her back, and doesn’t want her meeting new people or creating any new relationships. -A couple of weeks ago Russia started sitting in the front of Ukraine’s house & when her friends ask him what was he doing there, he said “Oh nothing, just getting a little bit of exercise in, that’s all.” -After her friends told her that Russia was potentially getting ready to do something bad to her, he said “They’re lying, they just want you to be scared of me & that’s not what it is” -Yesterday Russia broke into Ukraine’s house, beating her up & “taking advantage” of her while on Livestream & double dog daring any of her friends to do something about it & if they do want the smoke, Russia got that thang on him.

Oh no, I'm from Russia and still watch you..and still have access to alternative point of view. I'm not the only one by far. That's ridiculous how our state media are covering the news about that "special operation"...BUT European and US media is just doing exactly the same thing when they report only the facts and events that they can benefit from and tell everyone how evil Russians are. Neither of these points are true. If you really want to try getting an objective point of view, then please find the information from both sides. The only beneficiary in this situation is US.

I want to be sympathetic towards the Russian ppl but I think we're beyond just "welcome to USSR" now. How much longer will they continue to just say there's nothing they can do but stand by while this madman does whatever he feels.
