That sounds like the way to go. Saw the iPhone 15 video Apple put together that showed professionals using the iPhone 15 Pro with a similar setup using an external SSD drive.
I just put this rig together, using an extra light, zoom H4n pro, and wireless receiver I had just lying around. I'm hoping to use it for some guerilla filmmaking.
