Peak Design is just a hype. PGY, Wandrd and Ulanzi actually makes very thoughtful bags for photographers and videographers. Owned all brands, PGY is my fav so far.

I've had the Ulanzi sling bag for about 2 years now, I think. It's my most used bag. It's small enough that I can carry it with me literally everywhere I go, but also has enough space for gear. For reference, here's what's generally inside my bag: - Front pocket: Nothing. - Inside pocket: 2 spare batteries, 1 dongle (SD card to lightning) - Main compartment: Olympus E-M5 w/ TTArtisan 25mm lens (divider ); 1 Helios 58mm f2 w/ MFT adapter; CPL and ND filter - Side compartments: Hand sanitizer, dog poop bag - Inside back pocket: Ipad, no case (won't fit otherwise) - Back pocket: Wallet It's not heavy at all. And if you don't know it's a camera bag, it looks inconspicuous. If I'm shooting something that I know will move faster than my manual focusing skills can handle (like my nephews), I just swap out the main compartment gear with a Sony ZV-E10 + Sigma 18-50mm f2.8 and a bottle of water - and I'd still have enough space for another smaller camera, or a shotgun microphone, or something similarly sized. One thing that's not talked about by RU-vidrs, though (at least those I've watched), is that every other similarly sized and priced bag looks like a Carhartt lunchbox and a fanny pack had a baby. This includes the PGYTECH seen here, Peter Mckinnon's sling bag, K&F concept's version, and other more popular brands. The Ulanzi looks better. That is my opinion, of course. But for less than 50 bucks, it's as good as it gets.
I like your system. I do prefer the Ulanzi bag. I've never bought anything from Ulanzi that wasn't top notch. And they keep their gear affordable. Always a plus. Thanks for watching.
I'm torn between these two bags mainly because I don't know if the ulanzi can fit an 11 inch tablet in the inside pocket. what is the size of your ipad?
@@vinsynth I have an Ipad 9th gen so it's a little less than 10 inches and it already barely fits this bag. I do, however, also have the Ulanzi BC08. It's what I use instead of this if I had to replace the above setup with the larger E-M1, the larger mZD 12-40, and a Sony ZV-1. Including gear, it still has ample space for my ipad without being that much larger than the Ulanzi bag being reviewed here. Might want to give that a look as well.
Oh I wish I had watched these reviews before I bought the Peak Design 6L … too small … just got the 10L today. The A7iv is a big girl. :-) The PD bags look very similar to the Ulanzi. Awesome video Sly!
Thanks for watching. Yes, it keeps everything quite safe. I wouldn't go throwing the bag with my camera in it, but the dividers keep things from moving about.
The shorts I get in the Philippines have short pockets so I got in the habit of using a camera bag as a Filipino "Body bag." So camera gear plus wallet/phones keys don't fall out in cabs. Filipinos call diagonal man purse things are called body bags.
Thanks for watching. My pants have never had enough pockets, so I'm thrilled slings are a thing now. My little camera doesn't take up much space and is so much simpler for me to use than my phone (it has way too many buttons). And I love the term "body bag". I'm going to start using that!

Hi and thanks for the question. I tried it as a waist pack, and it definitely would work great IF your waist is bigger than 36”. Mine is 30-32 and I couldn’t make the strap small enough. Hope this helps.
I really liked the interior of the pgytech more because of the dividers. I noticed these were 6L bags and seemed quite spacious. I like my backpacks but for the few times that I just need to stick the camera in a bag without all the extras maybe this shoulder bag is good enough. I just can’t make up my mind between a 6L or a 10L bag. 😃
Hi Marieta, thanks for watching. The 6L is a good size for me as I'm on the smaller side AND I tend to fill up space if available making a larger bag heavier. Plus, I shoot with a small mirrorless (Canon M6 II) so it doesn't take up much room.

Hi, I just measured the bag and the R8 with lens attached would be a snug fit, but would work. The ipad 11 would fit perfectly. The one go is much more structured than the Ulanzi, but the Ulanzi is slightly bigger. Thanks for watching, I hope this helps.

@@slyreader also, we’re you measuring the 70-200 2.8 or 4? I carry the 2.8 and the 24-70 2.8 right now. Both beefy lenses but not as long as the ef’s. Thanks
I used B&H's website for measurements of the camera and lens. The inside of the bag is 10". It looks like the camera/lens combo is around 8.5. I tested my 80D in it (it's a thicker body than the R8) and it wasn't a good fit. The slimmer R8 should fit just perfectly.
The zippers do great until you get to the very bottom part. I don't ever open it past the first "joint" and they're very smooth to that point. The first joint allows access to everything anyway. From looking at the outside of the bag, it's at the top of the water bottle pocket they have a bit of issue, on both sides. But going up and around the corners at the top, no issue. Hope this helps. I just took a look at the Vanguard shoulder bag. And you’re right! I think it would beat out both of these. I carried a Veo Go backpack for 2 years and loved it. Good call 👍 Thanks for watching
That is what i needed, now i know that mine 80D + 24-105 will fit inside the Ulanzi bag perfectly with plenty of space for a nifty fifty. And just for that like and sub from me!
The XT-3 will fit, no problem. The 11" tablet may not. My kindle fits (in it's case) but it only measures 7.5"X5.25". I don't have an 11" tablet to try out, but I don't think the tablet will fit. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching.
