I have been dumpster diving before, I actually just started about a month ago and I am ADDICTED!! 😬 I am big on not wasting, always have been my whole life, so I see all the waste that is happening it makes me very sad. I e dived at Ulta, Bath and Body Works and Kohls. Ive found TONS of hand soap's at BBW, and I've found a nice red velvet chair at Kohls. I've found a few items at Ulta but nothing like you. 😬 Id LOVE to find a return box at Ulta one day. That would be awesome! Love your channel! Thanks for sharing!! 😘✌🏼️

Ci B I would never go by myself, I would advise to always go with someone. Just for safety reasons. I go after the store closes so it's always late at night.
Itzel A. There could be? But just look at the dumpster driving laws in your city/state. Where I live it is only illegal if there is a sign on the dumpster stating no trespassing, or private property. I've gotten caught by employees but they just ask me to leave and I politely do so.
I went diving with a couple friends at Ulta, target, and Charming Charlie. It was awesome! I got about $400 worth of stuff at Ulta, $320 at Target, and over $250 ($266?) at Charming Charlie! I honestly had a great time and it was totally worth it!
Our target was ulta but there dumpster was pretty empty. We did find some things at the dollar store one though. Sadly our trip was cut short because there was a car that kept following is around wherever we went. Next time I'm definitely taking my boyfriend. Stay safe you guys
Cheridan Stowe A lot of restaurants & Starbucks have to throw out uneaten/untouched food at the end of the night. By law they can't give it away. A lot of the employees put the food in new/clean bags and set them next to the trash for the homeless to eat. It's a work-a-round the law so the food doesn't go to waste.
+NightMarezMommy that's actually not true. The Federal Bill Emerson Good Samaritan Food Donation Act allows businesses to donate and not be held accountable for the condition of the food. Plenty of businesses do it and get tax write offs for it. But generally it is cheaper and easier to toss it, so they do. Whoop corporate America 😞

I have been diving since august and I am hooked! The first time I went there were two young ladies already diving, the employees had placed these large steel like displays on top of the makeup, I helped them get it off and they shared the finds with me! I walked away with a box of philosophy and Lancôme products, I have found plenty since but to be more successful I go at random times, clean the area up and try to be very quiet and quick. I started venturing out to other stores as well
I've gone diving at a World Market that was near my old apartment and I found a really nice wicker moon chair that was a $200 value. It was in fine condition except for one wicker binding was frayed, and that is extremely easy to fix. I'm thinking of checking out Ulta now that I live near one. Hoping to fine some skin care products!
It's worth it, you may not find something everytime but when you do you will be soo in love and you will get such a rush and want to go all night diving! :D Never let yourself lose the motivation if you ever get a bad streak. It is worth it :)
I am not sure how I came across your channel, but I am so glad I did! Subbed! I have always believed in dumpster diving, although I have not done it much myself as I live in a very small town surrounded by many other small towns, and the nearest place to do any real lucrative diving is about a 40 minute drive away. I do however, take things from garbage piles by the road, shop at thrift stores and rummage sales, etc. So many people, especially the younger generation, are wasteful little pukeoids, as I affectionately call them. ie, "I don't need to take good care of my iphone or my PlayStation 4. If it breaks or a newer model comes out, mommy or daddy will buy it for me" Ugh!! I am in my mid 40s, and I cringe when I think of all the money and things that I wasted in my younger years...Take jeans for example. No one NEEDS a $150 pair of jeans. All of my favorites have come from thrift stores for $5 or less. I don't look at them as used, I see them as a new pair of jeans that have been washed a few times. I also have relaxed standards. I can get furniture, dishes, silverware, home decor, etc from yard sales or thrift stores because I actually prefer things that DON'T match. I also prefer the feeling of having my bills paid rather than the rush of buying a new purse every week (one of my past addictions) I am either just older or wiser, I can't decide which...ok, done with my rant! You are an incredibly beautiful young lady, well spoken, intelligent, and all around entertaining and a true pleasure to watch. I look forward to more of your videos in the future, and will be binge watching all of your past ones...:-)
I have been diving for over 5 years now, I do it because I have to survive somehow. I had my identity and ssn stolen and I lost everything and made it next to impossible to build my life back. I mostly look for food every night but I mostly find that the most popular item people toss is clothing. Every piece of clothing I own has come from a dumpster and I'm not even ashamed. I go around apartments around the 1st of each month because people are moving in and out around that time so I have found all of my furniture that way and also silverware and such. I live in Minnesota and its 10 degrees and snowing so now all the items are so cold they shatter or the snow gets food wet and it molds faster so the long winter is a tough one. I never really have worn makeup but I would love to learn, hell I have never even owned a brush but I want to start experimenting.Too bad my Ultas and such lock the dumpsters or destroy every particle :/
Oh and also...keep up the hard work. I love how dedicated you are to making a difference in this world. We need more people like you. And thank you so much for changing the rules this time because I don't really mess with technology or social medias. I just watch a few RU-vid videos here and there to see what's going on in the world. So thank you for giving everybody a chance! You are soo brave going diving by yourself! I do go dumpster diving every once in a while, but I'm always a little scared because most of the places I go to have security guards so its kinda hard. I have only found 4 makeup brushes and brand new matte lip cream. Happy Diving!

Yes I've been diving and my best (favorite) find is a marker type thing for covering the grey in my hair. I looked it up and it was over $50. I love it!! Wish I could find another!!!
My grandma used to take my sister and I dumpster diving when we were young. I remember it used to be so much fun, because you never knew what you were going to find. I haven't gone in years, but I would totally consider doing an Ulta dive now. It'll be a nostalgic and eco friendly experience. I'm super convinced now! Thank you!
I have gone dumpster diving three times, I've only found things once but it was great! I found some bare minerals, Anastasia, smashbox, and tonssss of Ulta blushes!! I was suuuuuper stoked I did the math and it was over $150 worth. Not a whole lot but great for a first time. I also know I won't find a lot of things because that's the only Ulta in town and it just opened two months ago lol. Also they hired security guards and they Rome around so I really don't know when to go. PLUS someone robbed the Ulta last week so I think security is gonna be extra harsh now. But I'm getting a car soon so diving will be amazing, I can't wait to dive in Trader Joe's, I heard they have a bunch of food too. I'm planning on using the food to make meals to give out to the homeless I have great plans but I need something to move around in first so I'm excited ! Hey Arnold I worked at ulta for a long time and the reason you aren't finding anything is because the location you're going to is actually doing their job and following protocol. Anything that's returned is suppose to be completely destroyed. I had to smash perfumes, break pallets etc ( it was heartbreaking lol). But if corporate found out these employees weren't destroying the product they would be fired. There's another girl on RU-vid who dumpster dives at ulta and sells the products she finds. Which is why the protocol is to destroy everything. Sorry for the long post lol
Pryncess Angelyk it's really not safe to go alone, I have got my sister to go with me a few times, I carry a stun gun and pepper spray, some areas are just not safe to be at alone at night so for safety have someone with you, a friend of mine has been going with me lately
My Ulta hates me lol. They started to cut the cords on electric things. They are trashing the hell out of the returns too--with the whole conditioner/lotion routine, and yanking the gloss wands out of the tubes and gouging out the shadows and powders. I had one mega haul, a few small hauls and now it's just down to "what can I salvage???" :(
Tiffany Twisted i've been reading up on it and that's what they're supposed to do. if employees don't mess with the returns/whatever else they toss out, they could get fired. it's more of a sanitary thing i guess? i don't know
Yes I heard that's their policy. I think it's the luck of the draw--I have managed to get a few good things since, including a mega Benefit haul (all testers in great shape)!
I've worked for places where we had to destroy things we were throwing out, I was told it's so a customer can't bring it in and say they forgot their receipt and get an exchange for a new one of the same item (all the company's products were their own brand)
Yes I have! I went with a few of my friends after work a couple of times there is an Ulta right across the street and we haven't really found much but it was still fun it has created some good memories with my friends!
kisabelle04 its actually legal in a lot of places. Like its legal in the UK and most of the US except where prohibited by local ordinances. The problem is that most dumpsters are on private property which then counts as trespassing. So you wouldn't be charged with dumpster diving or theft but you would be charged with trespassing. However if you then use whatever you took from the dumpster to commit further crimes like identity theft that would obviously be illegal, since this is a common problem with dumpster diving a lot of people mistakenly think the dumpster diving itself is illegal but generally speaking it's not
kisabelle04 it's legal in most places, hence the police officers can search your trash without a warrant, and when you throw something away it becomes public unless it has a lock on it or is behind a fence with a sign prohibiting entry. I've seen you reply to everyone saying it's illegal, but you should do your research before spreading rumors which makes people not want to dumpster dive. Sorry if this came off as mean I'm just trying to inform.
I have never been dumpster diving but you have inspired me to try it out! I really do think it is a great way to reduce trash filling the dumps in our world. Even though it may not seem much to some people, I think every bit counts. It actually makes me sad thinking about how much "trash" is thrown out when it can be donated by the company itself. ive personally never dumpster dived before but watching these makes me and my friend want to go to our ulta and start dumpster diving and we are really excited
if you ever want to do this but you find powdered anything, take the power out of the container and mix it into rubbing alchol and put it back in the container but press it down in the container with a paper towel.
I would go, because i am down to recycle and save money, but I would be WAAY too jumpy . I would totally dive at an ulta because makeup.... You are way braver than i am. You go girl!
I'm a long-time dumpster diver, started with recently out-dated, non-perishable food items behind grocery stores, then I lived behind a flower shop that threw away their unused flowers, especially on Saturday night, and kept my house looking elegant with lots of fresh flower bouquets for free, also found a dumpster that threw away lots of great, new magazines! My current dumpster-diving focus is behind furniture stores and RentACenter-type stores, to get styrofoam, bubble wrap, etc for packaging my eBay selling items for shipping. It saves me so much money in buying packaging! I never thought about doing Ulta or similar stores. I appreciate your focus on recycling, and on keeping the area around the dumpster clean but I would urge you to also be sure to repack the papers, etc back in their original plastic garbage bags, as much as possible, as the loose papers blow away when the truck comes to load the dumpster's contents and makes the area look trashy. I've only ever been dumpster diving at Burlington Coat factory before! I always find lots of clothing and home goods there. I love makeup and your ulta dives have definitely inspired me to try diving there! Can't wait to see what I'll find!! P.S. what is your lip color?? I've been soo into brown lips lately..
I work at Panera Bread and we make our breads, pastries, and bagels fresh every single day.. we throw them into bags at the end of the day. We then donate them to any shelters or anything like that that ask for them. The rest go into the trash (bagged up). But the employees that close the store are allowed to bring any bakery items (bread/pastries/bagels) home (and as much as they want)
Ulta Employee here- As part of our return policy, we will accept returns on used make up as long as 80% or more of the product is unused. However, if the product has been used we can not return it to the floor to be sold to another customer. (For hygiene and quality reasons.) so the products that are returned to us that have been used get thrown away.
I would understand why people think it's nasty! But she is helping are environment that we live in ! All the things that people throw away and it's still good , she could have it for her own!! So maybe one day all the rude and disrespectful people will help the environment like her❤ All the hard work she does for the environment is not just for the world it's for her too! I bet she saves a lot of money 💰 which we all want to! ❤I respect all the work she and other people like her do ! Thank you for helping the environment!

Do you go late night or early morning? I went once but it was Summer time and we got in the wrong dumpster. I only found a stinky bag of rotten food, so hubby said never again lmao.
I have pretty much been dumpster diving my whole life. My dad started it and I just kept it up. We have found everything from toys to coats to lamps. Once I even found an entire artificial Christmas tree for my new apartment! :)

I've never personally gone, but I know some people who have. It's such a waste to throw away perfectly good products! I would love to find lipsticks and eyeliner! I think it would be so interesting to see what I could find. Keep these videos coming, I love it!
I have never gone dumpster diving and I don't plan on going. Its nit that I don't want to, its just that I have no means of transportation and I don't live near many places I would like free stuff from. I AM IN LOVE WITH MAKEUP! But i always end up getting drugstore makeup because its the most convenient thing for me. All the big name makeup brands I would like to get free stuff from, their stores are always in malls so it would be quite difficult to pinpoint which dumpster is for which store. But hopefully one day I have a person who is willing to do it with me and we would get free stuff together! You have really changed my mind on this whole dumpster diving thing and I am really thinking about going someday. thank you!

One time my fiance and I were diving, and it was near a domino's pizza... we never actually got in trouble but it looked like the Domino's workers were calling the cops on us so we got out of there so fast! LOL I never was more nervous in my life, but you know it didn't stop me from going again. Domino's here is open until like 2am, and we were at the store at like 11pm-midnight. Never in trouble though :D

i was turned on to dumpster diving when i was 11 by my mom. She grew up poor and while we had money due to my moms lovely determination to give us a better life. I absolutely LOVE dumpster diving. Living in a High end area in Las vegas its amazing what i find people have thrown away! wish i could post photos on here! never really thought about diving at a makeup store but I'm so down! Hitting up my girl over the weekend to check this gig out>.

LOL I'm thinking maybe just taking obvious soup bags home instead of destroying the bags and making a mess in the dumpster or surrounding area. Because if they notice torn bags and things then they might be suspicious someone is diving.
I've dumpster dived before it was when I worked at party city during Halloween...they throw away sooooo many costumes, good ones too and decorations like the robotic ones that talk and junk. Really good finds! I found a zombie baby decoration they threw out because the batteries died 😑😂 and a pirates of the Caribbean costume with a missing eye patch but those things are like .50 cents! I wanna try the make up stores now very interesting!

Alicia Rios Depends on the state. In many states dumpster diving is illegal. Most cops will give you a warning or a small fine. Employees and security guards will most likely give you a disgusted look and tell you to get lost.
I went dumpster diving for the first time behind a chain of stores and found perfect Urban Decay Sin Highlighter, a new Tarte scarf (Ulta), and a top with the tags on it (Marshalls). Took two others with me. It was so fun...we LOVED it!!!
I LOVE Diving!!! I'm addicted! especially when I watch videos!!! I have found 1 returns box with TONS of stuff but most was destroyed and soup. I manage to save a small tarte palette, a foundation and some creams. I wish I could GO ALL the time, everyday but I have a one year old so she takes up all my time. I went dumpster diving with my friend. We found sooo many bare mineral powders (about 15) a perfume with no label. A primer, a green color correcting concealer and a Pacifica lotion.
I have never been dumpster diving, but this sounds really cool to do. I feel like it is a little bit better for the environment and it keeps things from going to waste. If I had a make-up store anywhere near me I would probably do this.
Not attacking at all but multiple times you say you're vegan. But those are cheese bagels, is your girlfriend not vegan? I think it's super awesome that you donated it though. I REALLY wish businesses would just donate their leftover food geez.

I think what you are doing is cool. I have dived for things when we were putting a Haunted House together for our community. On a scary note, at my job in a medical building, we thought we heard kittens in a box in the dumpster. It was a newborn baby BOY!!! We were literally 1000 feet from the hospital doors. We called police and the baby was still with its umbilical cord attached! Happy note- after he received medical care, he was adopted! I am on a tight budget and would love to learn more secrets so I am happy I found your page!
I've never been dumpster diving but I'm really inspired by you to do it. Your videos are the first I've seen of dumpster diving and the amount of wastefulness in this country. I'd like to dive so that I can donate what I find to women's shelters as well as food banks. Where I'm from, we have a local food bank and women's shelter which I've volunteered at that constantly struggle to keep their shelves stocked with enough food and supplies to sustain the community. I hope I can find functional skin care items as well as wholesome foods for my local food banks and shelters 😁
