I suspect part of the reason there are some things that replay/loop/seem to be related to other pieces is that Origin Systems was experimenting with dynamic music systems, so it wouldn't surprise me if some of the midi tracks were meant to be stitched together by the game as the game was being played/different events occurred.
The track layout should approximate the way they present in the game, so the mix is a complete mess. Not complaining though, the sound quality is great.
Summer 1992. I'm 14. I don't know yet that the memory of playing this game through will stay with me for the rest of my life. I called it my favorite game of all time for about 20 years. It was so special to me that I refused to ever replay the game, fearing repetition might sully my appreciation of it. So the last time i launched this game was 30 years ago.... If I could go back and relive it all again, I would without hesitation. There's nothing about my life since i'd really care to lose. I coudn't redo those 30 years worse than I already have.
Totally get that “game of my life” vibe. I have played and enjoyed many game after it (DOOM, Star craft, Etc), but none has lived up to the environment this game offered. And the soundtrack was half of it. Incredible game
My vote for the best version of Stones. Lord British/Richard Garriott also agrees (see the comments): ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XzFsgg_nh0g.html
Check out the Exult project, I still play through U7 once every 2 years. (Still finding new secrets and easter eggs 23 years after I started playing the game..)

@@MrSprattibaggs Oh of course, it plays when you visit the plaza in Moonshade for instance, yeah? And you're just stepping over dead bodies as you try to get to Ducio and it's weird
I played Ultima III Exodus for nes and thought it was the coolest thing. But my friends father had this $3000 dollar computer setup with surround sound and all the top hardware at the time and had Black Gate. He was a security guard and would work nights at a hospital. So me and my buddy would fire up the game when he was at work. I remember we thought the opening with red face talking was mind blowing at the time especially with the sound card and surround sound. It was the pinnacle of the day... And the murder scene when the game first starts. We thought it was the coolest game we ever scene at the time. I will never forget the impression this game left. Especially me being a kid wishing I had the kind of hardware his dad had. Hence why it's one of my favorite Ultima games.
Ultima 7 has a wonderful cast of characters, especially villains. Its one of the most fun games I have ever played. The expansion packs are also fantastic, something you rarely see nowadays.
Elizabeth and Abraham, Garritt (the kid who stole the Silver snake venom), the Serpent of Order and the Time Lord since he's mad you haven't played Ultima VII lately
Indeed!! Old School Dungeon Synth epicness! In fact, from the minute 4:02, you can hear a melody that was used on some kind of intro in a 90s austrian black metal band called Hyperion, I guess not so many people realised that, hahah!
I just listened to the whole thing in the background, brings back good memories, probably the best Ultima, next to Ultima 5. Maybe a remake will be in the making, one day...
dream on, ea killed origin and really has no interest in revisiting it or wing commander. when ea kills a studio, it is well and truly dead. bioware is likely headed the same direction =[
@@kght222 Origin will never be revived, but that doesn't need to happen to get remade Ultima. EA just had Command and Conquer remastered and did it without reviving Westwood. It isn't impossible to see EA strip-mine their back catalog further. And most of the people at EA who were lampooned in the Ultima games (particularly the pirates in U6) are no longer with the company,
This OST includes (I believe) all the music from both ULTIMA 7: THE BLACK GATE AND FORGE OF VIRTUE EXPANSION and ULTIMA 7 PART 2: SERPENT ISLE AND THE SILVER SEED EXPANSION
@@njpberger Wow, thanks! I played U7 at home on my parents' computer, beat part 1, but regrettably never got to finish Serpent Isle. Now I have an even stronger reason to want to play it again. Thanks! :)
@@hithere8753 Why was that? I heard reports of Richard Garriot being gone from Origin for awhile, towards the end of SI and U8, then said to have been coming back for U9, but didn't , just Ultima Online, or something like that. Whats'the real story?
We had this game, so I assume I played it (I know I played 6, and both underworld games, and the adventures ones), although I don't recall either way. But I didn't realize how much of this soundtrack made it into Ultima Online!
Amazing, I had Stones and the Love Song and was playing these a few days ago so RU-vid decided to present this video to me. Coming here I wondered how I would locate the Love Song and lo behold I come across your message. Many love-struck memories
Very few modern games can create a so unique atmosphere like Ultima games did. Almost everything nowadays feels the same, so generic. Despite I played tthis game few years ago (with Exult engine and I printed the manual and map of the game myself), it gives me off a long time nostalgia feeling. One of the best memories is when I was reading the story of some NPC and suddenly the music at 35:46 or 41:30 starts to play.
rest in piece to the beast jon pizza meet up with the beat up helicopter and rain down spray lead til theyre dead now watch how he gets shot to the ground
Most of Ultima 7s music sounds so generic and it's just back ground music exc ER pt a few pieces like Stones. The music of Kenneth W. Arnold from Ulyima 3,4, and 5 will always be so memorable.
i think its probably from like buccaneers den probably i haven't played the game in so long lol. oh wait actually i think it was from the gargoyle lands. jeeze i need to set this up on dos box lol
Tried taking off my clothes to join the nudist but it never changed my appearance in game and they rejected me :( that fake monk got me back in the day
