Ultimate 80's Super Coupe Tire Slayer (AMG 560 SEC 6.0L) 

Some of my fondest automotive memories were visiting Stratton of Wilmslow-the UK concessionaire for AMG in the mid 1980’s with my dad-I would have been around 15 years old. My dad was a lifelong MB fan and always ran S Class models-mostly 500 series.I wanted him to buy a brand new AMG 500SEC but he wasn’t a fan of the de chrome and Recaro electric seats they used to put in them instead of the MB chairs(my dad hated leather and always had ‘Brazil’ cloth or velour in his cars).The mechanic who used to fit/convert/service the AMG engines for Stratton was only 18 years old at the time and still works in the Manchester area as a Ferrari/Porsche specialist.He fixed an intermittent problem with my Ferrari F355 that no one else could diagnosed a while

Proud Benz owner here! Wow!! AMG in the 80s is what made me become a car enthusiast and car artist. Even my dad bought one of these in 86.

Nowadays, Mercedes will throw an AMG badge on any I4 or V6 turbo they sell.
