I have had on several occasions fed an animal, but they just continue to do their thing and don't follow despite having the green hearts above

Besides their path finding being crap, they also don't like going through thresholds of doorways, I wasted all of my animal treats on a sheep that refused to enter my village because of my fort doorway.

How come my pig ended up leaving his barn? Was it because I didn't pay him any attention?

Yes yes yes so are the sheeps I think all the animals do it. I keep going through animals quickly because they keep offing themselves in the fires.

No joke, I’ve lost 4 of them already

I built little fences around every campfire. It doesnt look good, but effectively denies my animals for suicide burning themselves. I could keep my animals for at least 5 ingame days this way already and they dont seem to get hurt anymore.

Yeah, as soon as i found out, that they make spicy burgers from a single chili seed, i said to myself that this is broken. Those food types are supposed to be one of the best and therefore relatively difficult to farm and now you can spam them like crazy. At least i can craft epic bait buckets without having a bad consience now. On the other hand the pig is absolutely useless. It can process much more food than the others, but only give mushrooms. I hope we can upgrade slurp juice into a slurp keg or something in the future, which provides instant health and health generation on top or something like that.
