In my head-canon, these were people that had been driven underground due to some calamity and had gotten used to low-light conditions. Now, years later, it's finally safe to return to the surface, and they're testing the populace for individuals with eyes strong enough to withstand full daylight. I 100% expected Light Thirteen to be the sun.

Can i just say I 100% appreciate how your volume control is actually reasonable, most ASMR uploaders go so low that you have to raise your volume to max, and when an ad hits at the end of the vid my eardrums bleed from the mass change in audio :)

Let me just check the instructions from the handout, and yeah: "Extended duration eye resilience testing is a major procedure and proper aftercare is essential. Sleep is highly recommended, as well as fluffy cats and dim lighting on return of consciousness to avoid seeing sharp edges or bright reflections, which might slow the recovery process."

I normally watch your vids to fall asleep but i think im gonna watch this one during the day js so i can see all the different variations of lights! I never stay awake long enough to make it to phase 2. Your voice is js so soothing its so nice to fall asleep too

All the animal-themed lights that are made ironic fun in this video are actually fearsome predators, lol. The snake or whatever headlight even recalls the crown of Pharoah in ancient Egypt. For extra fun, I sincerely thought the lion light was a hamster until it was explained to be a lion.
