I've been shooting APA bows (both single and dual cam) for 10+ years. I hunt in the Eastern deer woods and 15-day backcountry hunts in the Rocky Mountains, hunting with the camp on my back. The bows have never failed me, so I have not input on their customer service. (This is a good thing, right?!) Their customer relations in ordering the bow and providing guidance on their technologies has been second to none! The bows just simply work!
Nice chilled-out review. I own the same bow in the 33 ATA from last year. After coming from so many split-limb compound bows I am still finding it a bit hard to steady but it is light, fast, and accurate. It is one of the louder bows in my collection and definitely the most versatile. I chose the chocolate finish with tan limbs and camo cams. It's one-of-a-kind for sure!
Thank you! Yeah that's true, I do feel like they could maybe incorporate a little more sound/vibration dampening. Definitely a very versatile setup! I did also find that because they are so light they can be a bit harder to steady. After making some tweaks with my stabilizer setup in weight and position, I found it to be way more steady and nice to shoot.
Might be time to replace my 6 year old PSE stinger 3g with something more serious. Love the pulley stop rod and hole for changing the shoot string it's about time someone came up with that idea.
Love watching reviews on new bows, thanks. Had a hard time seeing the bow, so I just skipped to 9 minutes to see it, then went back to see what you had to say. Sounds quiet (shoot a target further away so we just here the bow.) Thanks for the videos. Really appreciate!!!!!
Yeah I think next time I'll add some more close up b-roll so you can see it better. I agree that the target sound kinda muffled the sound of the bow. With the bow sight off I didn't want it too far away because I had no idea where it was going to hit hah Thank you for the feedback though. Next review will be better!
Nice review. Is that winch removable? Also, how does the draw length match up to spec on a draw board? I've heard various differences across the board for all APA bows.
Thank you! Yes it is. The BM 29 I reviewed in that video I did not measure but it did feel a bit long when shooting. However, the BM Air 28 that I have the other video on came out to be a 1/2" longer of a draw (27" mods measured 27.5") on the board. So I will say they may run a bit long. Hope that helps.
I love watching new bow reviews, these bow look awesome I'm going to get my hands on one soon , probably go with the longer 31 bow my draw is 28 1/2 " would you order a 28" in the 31? I see In a post where they may run a little long Hey, thanks for the reviews
At some point they have to change something of importance instead of just adding gimmicks, right? We sold these in the shop about 10 years ago and they look identical still. Except now they got fancy snake head cut outs.
You're not wrong. Some more riser options and performance improvements would be ideal to keep up with the big dawgs. I can also appreciate that they are not a big company and they seem to have found a niche in finding ways to be very user friendly with making adjustments without tools and other equipment, which other companies are just now starting to do. There definitely isn't a perfect bow company out there but I have been happy with APA.
Did he nock an arrow first? , they have a warranty program, you could have just let ‘em know that it did that,, unless it’s a user error of some kind like it was dry fired or shot after being stored outside during the winter 🥶. Either way sorry that was your experience.
That secondary rattle after I took my bow sight off ended up being the knob that holds my bow sight in place. The bow is definitely not the quietest, but also not the loudest bow I've shot. Like I said, it's kind of just average in terms of the sound it makes.
What technology are you referring to? I would say they could update their limbs but APA has done a lot so that the user can fix and make changes on the fly in the field that you won't see with other brand bows.
I love how you in the process of showing us with the cam locked does in order to take the strings off you quick cut to it being already done. Yeah that's a terrible idea been watching this don't ever ever do this even if you own this bow don't use those. You will damage your cams.
Well of course I threw the quick cut in there. I had already made that clip doing it on my other bow. It is the same process on any bow so why would I not use a clip of it being done already? Do you own an APA bow and have problems with your cams after using the pin lock? Or do you just assume it damages them? The cams stay in alignment and vertical when using it. I am not sure how you are coming to the conclusion that it is ruining them.
@@stalkartistI’ve learned from putting out tests & reviews on RU-vid there is a large percentage of people who just spout their opinions as facts lol I see he never responded 🤣 These APA bows are one I’ve been look at to add to the test series!
@@BlueCollarOutdoorsUSA Yeah for sure! hah It is what it is. But yeah man if you have the chance to get your hands on one they are worth checking out. In the long run I will say I personally had some tuning issues with the 2 APA bows I had but I am curious to see how your review turns out if you can get one.
@@stalkartist No Interesting bow but from looking at reviews it looked like it had a big hump in the rear which is common on most bows with small wheels. I shoot a bowtech ss at 60# on the comfort setting because of bad shoulder [76yrs old] and was wondering if I could shoot that bow. The closest dealer is 150 miles away. Your input would be nice.
@@miltonreeths522 Gotcha, thank you for clarification. I would say that these shorter axel to axel bows sit in the middle as far as draw cycle comfort goes. If you're older and used to shooting that bowtech on a smoother setting, you might not like these APA bows to be honest. Hope that helps.
That is interesting. I haven't really had any problems tuning the couple that I have and I am pretty particular with my tuning because I shoot NFAA competitions. However, I will say that their variable yoke technology sometimes works against you to fix cam lean (even though it is supposed to prevent cam lean) if I'm going to be honest.
