This is a paid AD. John Quilter's nipped over the Irish Sea to Northern Ireland to hunt down some of Fermanagh's famous black bacon for his ultimate bacon sandwich. Toasted sourdough bread and crispy bacon topped with a delicious home-made brown sauce. John's recipe is loaded with black pudding, onions, tomatoes and lemon to create the perfect twist on this breakfast classic.

What cut of meat does that bacon come from? The US normally uses pork belly for bacon, and that didn't quite look like belly bacon to me. Still looked like a tasty sandwich!

If you're eating it on its own thicker cut bacon is better, if it's eaten accompanying other things in a sandwich i'd say the thin crispy bacon is better.

Ricky Cox I don't like his manner, overly familiar with people he doesn't know and seems fake. Like the way he reacts to the girls taking big bites, talking about them in the third person. I find it really condescending. It's like he's talking to really young children. But many people must like it, otherwise the chuggers wouldn't do it I suppose.

Was also surprised to see the only real addition to a normal bacon sandwich to make it "ultimate" was making the black pudding sauce. Maybe combined with James Martin's ultimate bacon sandwich (French-toast brioche bread, pancetta ham, cheese), is the solution.
