The machines are listed by their outside frame size such as 1000x1000 or 1500x1500. Does this include the motors or do the motors stick out beyond the frame dimensions? If so, how much extra do the motors add to the dimensions? I'm planning to get a 1500x1500 soon and trying to plan out my table/enclosure.
Dimensions are only for frame and they do not include motors. As for how much motor sticks out it depends on motor itself because you can get normal nema or closed loop or servos. My normal nema motors stick roughly 145mm.
@@KaminarisTech Thanks so much for the info! I'm planning to get the NEMA motors as well so the dimensions you gave are really helpful. One more question, what is the total height of the Z axis from the bottom of the frame to the top of the NEMA motor?
You cant design something around exact values because stuff will be sticking out such as cables or water cooling pipes. But Z max height from bottom of fame is roughly 730mm.
@@KaminarisTech Thank you so much for the info! I am not going to finish designing it until I have the machine. I wanted the dimensions to make rough estimates of how large the enclosure needs to be so i can budget for materials. Thanks again for these videos. They were super helpful!
What size frame do you have. I have been thinking on getting the 750×750. I really need it for aluminum mainly. So that's why I'm going with a smaller unit to keep rigidity up on it As for the bigger machines I heard there's alot of whip on the ball screw because of the length of the ball screw. Have you cut any aluminum on yours yet
I have 500x750, the X is work size is smaller, around 350 because of extrusions, so roughly 350x750. Yes i did aluminium, does decent job at it, ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-f6tmugKeJfc.html
