No, hardmode essentialy marks a new beginning, new ores can spawn, new enemies can spawn, certain events are unlocked, your evil biome will start spreading,new bosses are available, new weapons that can be found and crafted, tins of new items to find, and npcs will start selling new stuff and might stop selling some old stuff, also all weapons and armor available in easy mode are significantly weaker to hardmode enemies
I don't know what to do, man... I feel like every step is backwards, npcs are unhappy, I don't know how to upgrade my gear or tools, I don't know how to craft anything. No other game has ever made me feel do unwanted, alienated and despised. It's like an inside joke in a group of friends I'm not welcome in. I feel like I'm supposed to know exactly what to do next, but the game never gives me a direction on how to proceed. The difficulty quickly spiked, and I fail to fight any mobs outside of forest or underground.
Same... i just got it for the switch, which might not be the best console to play it on. I created a house and everything but suddenly the monsters kept getting inside my house and just wouldn't stop spawning day or night, so I gave up on that world lol
Unfortunately in its most updated state it can be really hard to break past that entry barrier, but watch a couple videos on the early game stage, and if you ever don't know what to do, it's always a good time to explore!
