Today we check out the ultimate beginner's guide to intervals on the guitar - in this music theory lesson we will dissect each interval in detail and it will be easy to memorize them once you establish all those different connections. Learning and visualizing the intervals across the neck will help you in many different ways, transcribing material by ear will become much easier and you will be able to articulate yourself professionally in a studio or practice room situation. It's a must-learn skill and this lesson is here to help you master it.

@@jurijsk8997I'm sure it has more than 600K now which is great. I hope Bernth gets millions of subscribers and makes the same in money cause his lessons are so good and well thought out for players like me who needs it ALL broken down to understand.

I've been watching his youtube videos, but finally bought new gear after not playing for several years and just became a Patreon Bernth subscriber cause I've played by feel for years and had very slow progress and realized that writing solos is next to impossible without certain music theory knowledge, or improvisation playing. Matter of fact, once I became an a somewhat intermediate player, I felt like I was stuck and then eventually quit playing.

I just got my first guitar a few months ago and I'm struggling quite a bit to be honest. This video helped a ton though I'm still very confused. I'm gonna watch the more of your content and see if I can figure the rest out.

I am usually not one to leave comments but BERNTH deserves it. Allow me to say that I do not follow any other "metalheads" and we practically have nothing in common when it comes to music preference or looks. That being said, this man is one the best, if not the absolute best when it comes to technique first and foremost!! Additionally, his knowledge is superb. A very good and super important quality for a teacher is to be able to convey the information in a simple and relatable way. A big fat bravo to you, sir!!

Time could not have been better to know about intervals than this when I am becoming good at Music Theory with Ionian and related Aeolian mode. Great work. Keep on!

Hi Bernth, Glad to hear your back home safe and sound. I take it you had fun! I looked for the lessons you said you uploaded to RU-vid, but the only one I found was the Dorian Pentatonic scale. But thats okay, I practiced the hell out of it! Intervals, I know one or two, but your lesson can bring me up to speed! I can't wait to get started! Thanks again for another great lesson, and thanks for taking the time to produce them! By the way I really love the intro to your lessons with the gold lettering, it looks so professional! That's cool! Okay got to go! See you in the next video! Todd P.

2:30...'the bass was just playing A all the time'... ... let's all just become bass players. 8:46...I love the 4th...I go for that a lot in my own experimenting. Actually, in interviews Richie Blackmore has said that he works with fourths a lot...so maybe that's a way to decipher some of his fretboard logic...thanks. Great vid. You always have really good content. ... Steve T was asking for suggestions for guitarists that are better than he is😀...I might suggest your channel! 🤘

Question... When/why is the phrase diminished or augmented applied to other notes besides perfect4th-5th when they could be called min3rd, maj3rd etc. Example: Harmonic minor has a raised 7th, or augmented 7th.. are both correct?
@Wyldwulf

Bernth this is an amazing and concise lesson. I have a question to ask. My personal teacher is having me learn all the major scale currently in 3nps format. He is having me count intervals as I go. And I get the importance of this from understanding mapping but how does it apply in PRACTICE to the point of shredding? Clearly (I can only assume) there is some point where you simply cannot count- or am I wrong and that you are always counting or do you shift from a point where your ear and hands just start to sync as you play faster?

Hello Bernth! Can you teach us how to write those mean sounding "dissonant/chromatic-like" solos, often in death metal and these extreme genres? I know a lot of them use the diminished scale, and I learned it, but for some reason I'm missing the right mindset, coming from mostly melodic music before. kthxbai

Does anyone else think like me, Bernth appears to be missing the Strandberg style headless guitar, he's done away with bulky movement entirely, he appears to have done away with being a mortal and making mistakes, it stands to reason he'd do away with unnecessary guitar bits too!! Lol. 😁🤔😃🤟🤟
