Pretty impressive skills to fit, cut and weld all those pieces. It tuned out to be far from the regular bolt on build, but some good lessons to learn about what you can do if you know how.

Some Stellar work performed there by Vin and NV auto. Vin is a proper , educated fabricator. You can just tell from how he works. I tip my hat to that man. Anyway how fucking much did that cost! Please do a cost episode at the end of the build like ye did withe the M3 drift car. Not that I want to do it but I'm curious because I know it ain't cheap. BTW can't wait to see the end result. It looks amazing now can't wait for the track test. Rock on speed academy!

For high speeds you might see some decreased cooling performance through that rad with that big shroud. Maybe look at some "shroud flaps" to allow air to travel through the shroud at high speeds, when you don't need the fan

Agreed. The limited gap between the radiator surface and the fan shroud looks like it really limits the radiator effectiveness. But I know space is limited. 😎

@@erikmiles5536Exactly, the fans are really only there to pull air through the rad when there isn't airflow, like being parked. But at speed, the fan and shroud limit the amount of air that can travel through the rad. Ideally you seal the edges of the rad to the bumper/engine compartment to improve the flow through the rad as well

wouldn't that closed off fan shroud create a restriction when fan is not running? i.e. when the car is moving? instead of utilizing the whole surface of the radiator, air is only flowing through the fan-sized opening

Does NV pressure test those intercooler units? I have never welded aluminum, but I’ve heard that people have issues occasionally, related to impurities.

Plz change that filter. It’s been proven that a regular cone type filter promote better flow. The foam will also deteriorate and fall apart over time. Personally, I recommend S&B filters over anything else on the market. They flow better than k&n and i would not consider to be expensive.

Zero to hero Also too, with aluminum it dissipates heat very well at first, then it saturated. What this means for welding is that if you try to weld it without pre-heating you have to pour amperage into it to get a puddle going, then back way off the amperage once the part comes up to temp and is welding smoothly. Nothing wrong with this, but it makes for a non uniform looking weld, whereas if you pre heat the part to start the weld comes out looking much more uniform.

I'm ok with the filter but you need another color, the yellow is just too "in your face". To me it distracts from all the other important parts under the hood.
