💗💗💗really like the city you go to Unlike other cities in Vietnam where many people are shown on RU-vid, Dong Hoi Central Vietnam is a city where RU-vid numbers rarely post or none. Many cities in Vietnam are very beautiful. QUANG BINH has a huge cave that many western tourists visit. And Hollywood used to shoot the movie Kong.💓💓💓

Hey yes so many beautiful places in Vietnam to visit and everybody go to the same place and make same videos! We will return when weather is better, get a motorbike and explore properly where do you recommend? 🇻🇳🙏 Have a great day

@EllisWR
@EllisWR Год назад
Hahah gives you strength! The fresh herbs and veg is amazing isn't it
@ric44n
@ric44n Год назад
Some of the Vietnamese herbs don’t have English equivalence so they are just conveniently called viet mint or coriander. Balut has to always be eaten with rau ram and not with anything else. Its unique taste suits the balut perfectly. The herb at the end that smells fishy is called rau giap ca. well, ca means fish in English!
@EllisWR
@EllisWR Год назад
Hey Ric thankyou! The herbs in Vietnam are incredible so many interesting flavours I love it. Cheers for explaining!
@pannachawangkul585
@pannachawangkul585 Год назад
The rau giap ca's fishy smell is too strong for me. My Vietnamese friends said it's good for women' s health. I'll take their words for it, but I can't get pass the smell. It took me 15 years to get pass the smell of Blue cheese to be able to eat it, 😅😅😅. My sister and my niece eat it and like it though. My niece grows it in her small garden as her husband is Vietnamese-American. 😀

You guys are not at all timid when it comes to trying food. That's amazing! Most foreigners would not have liked the first place you went to due to the texture ('cept the fried dumpling at the end). Vietnamese people love snails and you should totally got to a bigger snail restaurant where they offer all kinds of seafood such as clams and mussels along with snails. As far as the banh khoa as they call it there (similar versions are called banh xeo), when presented with rice paper, veggies, and herbs like that, add the lettuce or bigger green leaves as your base layer, then the herbs, then the protein or in this case, banh khoa. Wrap and dip. It's a very common way to eat Vietnamese food. If you don't have rice paper, such as when you eat fried spring rolls (eggrolls), or banh tom (shrimp and prawn fritters) then use your lettuce or mustard leaf to wrap everything in, but layer it with herbs and veggies and the fried items or protein before wrapping and dipping.

I love those steamed shrimp cakes . You should try the Banh Uot Thit Nuong ( grilled pork wrapped in steamed rice crepe ) as well . All those dishes are actually originating from Hue , but personally I prefer the ones of Dong Hoi ( Quang Binh ) , they are tastier . Always eat those Banhs with a lot of fish sauce which increases their flavour . Never eat the whole snail because the last part of it is just its excrement that could make you sick .

I thought for sure that was fish mint that made that fishy taste and sure enough, you showed it at the end. That's hardcore as fish mint and shrimp paste are things many Viets cannot eat. I think the shrimp paste in that bowl may have been undiluted, which means you're supposed to add it to your dip if you want it. Shrimp paste is never eaten straight up, but mixed into soups or mixed in with lime juice, sugar, oil, etc., (e.g. bun dau mam tom) before eating.
@EllisWR
@EllisWR Год назад
Was our first time eating fish mint it's strange! I like it but Alicia doesn't. As for shrimp paste I ate it every day in Laos straight on chilli's so got used to it! Thanks for explaining 🙏
