One thing I learned from years of playing mmorpgs is that choosing a class you’ll enjoy the most in the long run, regardless of power scaling, will always be better than playing a “meta” you don’t enjoy. Also, the “meta” can change in the blink of an eye, so prioritizing enjoyment rather than efficiency can and will lead to a better experience.

Im going to copy something i saw on the Reddit for T&L the other day, and tell me how you feel about it cause it seems that it would actually be a great idea for them in the near future. I think Throne and Liberty looks great, and I've been very excited for it alongside my friends, however I feel one thing missing from the game that I really hope they introduce soon is a actual "Class" or "Specialization" system, maybe around level 10 or 20 so Players who already started, of course wouldn't have to restart, only accept a quest or something given to them on logging in after the update.... They could simply introduce it on top of the Weapons something like Ashes of Creation is doing, and I just feel it would add a lot to the progression and combat side of the game, as the ideas they can do for classes are much like the ones we see in games such as Ashes of Creation/WoW or Lost Ark and BDO for example, without killing the idea of a "unique weapon" system, as they could just allow any "class" to play with MOST weapons if not a big deal, then any class could use all Weapons, however maybe only limit it to certain classes so if they ever in the future want to make additional Weapon Types that certain classes can only choose from/use.... Which btw i expect them to add new Weapons or something, as its.... kinda the only "Classes" in the game for them to add onto or release lol, unless they in fact are eventually going to add a "Specialization" or "Class" system in the future of the game, which I very much hope for along with others. (i.e a Mage could use a 2H sword or Daggers/Swords, making them a Melee-Spellcasting/Buffing Mage, or a Shield/Sword Using tank-like Mage or Priest (aka turning into a Paladin for example if Priest) which is a very cool concept btw and I wish a MMO would do it before Ashes of Creation does, which probably releases in 2030 lmao, as they are doing Classes PLUS Weapon skill system which I think is indepth and needed in a MMO of todays standards, we've seen MMOs try Weapons as Classes and just sorta die off overtime as weapons being introduced are 10x less exciting then a brand new "Class" with a talent/skill tree to explore...*cough* New World) What do you all think? Im personally very hyped for the game and the changes they are making for Global but just think they could forsure do a bit more on the "vertical" and "horizontal" progression sides of things alongside a "Classes/Specialization/Archetype" system...
Great guide, will probably try out the Bow + Dagger combo (the dagger seems to be broken support weapon, hopefully they'll fix it so more builds are available)
Not sure if anyone thought of this but when we get access to the weapon expression update, I plan to go hard with s/s + wand and maximize the bonuses and cooldowns of Bastion and Reflect Barrier to try to turn my tank build almost into a porcupine build. What I'm hoping for is that Bastion has the option of only effecting me but cutting the cooldown by a lot. Using the passive that grants bonus damage against taunted targets I can then taunt enemies, pop bastion to make my DR go out of control, then activate reflect barrier and watch as the enemies delete their HP when they hit me.
wand also gives a shield to a friendly target when you use curse explosion and your target has your touch of despair on it. you can also aoe touch of despair with the wand block. i like wand / bow more than wand / sns. i can remove any debuff or cc using the bow skills, get some extra cc, or reset a skill using blitz (can do double massive party heals xd), get extra durability from passives while still one shotting players with stacked curses and explosion and healing myself or my team. don't need crit and I can get infinite mana from mana regen instead plus enough hp and defense to survive any combo from any weapon.

Thank you for this, it has been so long since this game has been announced for western market and I didn't follow it at all because of how long it took. Now I know what I will start with.
I will definitely start Dagger, and then leaning into comboing with Bow. Why? I want to be as flexible as possible with 2 weapons to later lean into 3: Even though it’s not the strongest combo, the Bow makes the PvE leveling/farming bit easy as hell and Dagger is the best combo with most, so always a good weapon to pick up. This will open up A LOT of paths to settle in at the end game. Depending on the skill expansions patch. And if Bow + Dagger gets wild I will definitely stick with that. I could pickup Staff and continue Bow + Staff with Daggers as a third spec for Staff + Dagger. Maybe Bow + Dagger gets wild. I could pick up GS for GS + Dagger. Could pickup XBow for XBow + Dagger (though I am not a high APM fan and they will nerf this). Heck I could even pickup Wand to make it Bow + Wand after the skill patch to become healer if I want. Could even pick up and then deep dive SnS with Dagger and later add GS. Then drop Bow altogether for example. Seeing some of the skill patch stuff I am leaning towards Staff + Dagger/Bow. Moving while casting, blinks, stealth, with fast casting times, etc. Are you kidding me? :D. I am getting WoW frost mage duking vibes here :D. With also a chance to throw in Bow… Maybe the good old GS+Dagger when everything else fails.
I've spent about 5 hours previously and didn't take to the game but going to try it again see what I think this time. I am thinking either Crossbow+Dagger or Sword+Shield
Very good video. Have you left out the passive skills intentionally because of the incoming update with the tree skills like LA have and you will cover all of those in anuda video?
How much does your skill, reaction speed, rotation matters for PvE DPS? Can f2p outdmg non-f2p in dungeons by executing everything nicely, or is It more p2w heavy and stats just matter? As outcome of previous question, is it better go Tank SnS+whatever or DD Dagger+whatever for f2p+?
Can and will you put out some build guides for beginners before the game launches in the west? Also a walk through of the gearing process for free to play players.
Is there a difference to weapon combination depending on which slot they're in? Let's say you do GS/Dagger. Is that the same as Dagger/GS? Does every weapon only have 6 skills? Since I'm seeing 6 skills on the left half of the bar and 6 on the right. Makes me think that, for example, GS skills are on the left and dagger on the right. Or are there a bunch of skills per weapon and you choose where to bind them?
So the only difference between GS/Dagger and Dagger/GS is that the mastery (masteries are passives that you unlock by level up the weapon, they are different from the weapon passive skills) of the weapon that is in hand is used. That means when you use a Dagger skill you use the mastery from the dagger, and same for any other weapon. (If you have a mastery passive that gives you 20 critical hit, it is active only when the weapon of said mastery is in hand.) Every weapon currently has 11 active skills, 7 passive skills, 1 block/Dodge roll with 1 counter attack for each. You can mix and match any of the actives and passives however you like in your skill bar (Is doesn't need to be 6 GS and 6 Dagger). And you can chose one block from any of the two weapon you're equipped with.

this is sadly true , because the game has already been played you will always find those ppl who come and play the game as fresh start but with the knowledge of every system in the game , this is huge advantage in every way , this is why I strongly like the time gated content when releasing an MMO that has already been in another region this gives enough amount of time for ppl to understand the game better , ya the content will not be enough at start but that is for the benefit of the players , biggest example that I liked about this is tarisland , there is huge time window between content releases
@@lessdatesmoreonmyplates1457 as I said it is bad if the game is fresh new , but old game in another region , it will even be worse releasing full content day1 , actually horrible , u want biggest example ? lost ark , ppl who made millions and fuked up market , knew where to farm knew what to do exactly , dude it is horrible for the game , I saw time gate in tarisland ya ppl complained not enough content but that was for the greater benefit and simply ppl rest for day or two then come back for the raid or new content , doing this for benefit of the game is better than player's boredom , if time gating should be criminal offence , then honestly any player who previously played the game on another region and start fresh with ppl should be IP banned from the whole game because it is totally destroying the experience of fresh player and fresh MMO which is the actual most fun experience, ppl play new MMO for the experience of being fresh , ppl don't know what to do , discover things together
@@lessdatesmoreonmyplates1457 as I said , you have two options 1 - all content available day 1 , many experienced players coming to fresh start MMO with immense amount of knowledge , they know everything beforehand , how to choose traits which traits to farm best bosses to farm , which events to do to optimize their builds , fastest routes to lvl , literally everything , this knowledge is game changing bro , and at the same time it is game destroying for other new players who are trying to discover the game and learn the game specially in pvp , in pve scenario this won't affect ppl much , but in a game that has much focus on pvp like this , this is game changer , not just on the individual player level , we are talking about whole guilds of whole experienced players we will see , this is absurd bro , we already seen this in lost ark early on market being manipulated ppl made millions because they had previous knowledge about the game , and what to do exactly , how to speed run to tier 3 and optimize their time , made alts early on and had huge advantage over others , many things. 2- time gate content ( not by months ) for example in tarisland it was timegated by days , 4-5 days between dungeons or raids , this gives ppl that never played the game before time to discover the game to experiment with the systems , and at the same time those experienced players can't surpass anyone , they will be just stuck in their places , honestly this is a much better solution for the benefit of the game at the end an MMO is all about fresh start where everyone don't know anything , everyone is discovering the game , learning mechanics together , discovering the world , learning everything about the game , taking away this option because the game has already been played to the full in another region literally ruins it
If I want to be as annyoing to enemies in mass pvp as possible (something like ice mage, warlock) would Bow + Staff or Staff + Wand be better choice? I dont really care about having some huge DMG,. I want enemies to feel miserable.
