Another good name for it that we use in California is a lipper
@sherimorris5583
@sherimorris5583 5 лет назад
I made my first Lipper in 1985 out of 1"x3/8" back-up bar. I notched the side and welded a 7/8" low profile hardened nut into the notch. The nut was reassessed into the bar about 3/8" I used a hammer to strike the nut to drive the bar under a sheet that has been welded down to break the weld so we could remove or reposition the sheet. The nut was also cool when I used it to spin the lipper on my finger like a gun slinger.

I started out my apprenticeship decking nothing wrong with that my first "lipper" was made on site out of backer bar from the welders . Good video and always remember a tool always works better when you fabricated it yourself.

No offense taken.... But I came straight outta high school started at 20 bucks an hour with raises every 6 months with insurance pension and annuity not counting vacation checks... it’s a good stepping stone in life but check like everything it’s what you make it.... I’m only 25 and I’m a Jiw own my own house don’t owe anything on my big truck... but I’ve almost dead/been real hurt a bunch of times.... I’ve been extremely hot and extremely cold.... it’s not the weak... survival of the fittest out here....

@Cb138inRs
@Cb138inRs 8 лет назад
you can make an okay deck tool. but next we gotta teach you how to use auto focus on your camera. lol I've seen quite a few deck tools. Try making one out of flat steel next time. Use the same technique. but incorporate a beater on one end. the thin flat steel is better for marrying up the deck and also not bending it as you try to unfuck the female.
@ChantzFabz
@ChantzFabz 8 лет назад
Rav3 G0d hhhaha was my camera all jacked up? And copy that I've built a few outta flat stock
@Cb138inRs
@Cb138inRs 8 лет назад
Just everytime you put something up close. it was super blurry. But yeah. Flat steel works wonders. even only 1/4in thick is great. if you throw enough deck you can just morph your scabbard for the deck tool to fit. even though it's a little bigger. but the best one i've used is just like yours. but out of flat bar. and on the stab side. it's about 2" wide and has a v cut into it the center for better prying on shit. and then your handle/beater part would still be made of flat steel. but just is mushroomed out on the end and about 4 inches wide. Works wonders brother. But this isn't a bad tool. Can just always keep improving and improving.

Michael Elliott just go apply at your local union hall when you’re 18 and you’ll go on a list to get hired and when they interview you kill it and do your 4 year apprenticeship and be all dialed by 22 making 80k a year!!!🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
