I take three to four tools with me every time I head to the woods. Of course I got this from Kephart. An axe (chopping tool), a belt knife and neck knife, a saw and a muilt-tool. Right tool for the right job.

I've been rucking and gardening, not sitting on the couch. 3+ miles with the dog got another compost pile going now. sawdust, grass clippings, kitchen veggie scrap, added shredded 50 corn husks and cobs today. Reloaded 470 rounds of 9mm last week after some range time with my wife last week.

I made a PVC sheath for my machete... it keeps it nice and tight... handy tool... I grew up in a farm mate... I call the ''outdoors'' home! even though I live in a big city now... I do everything to make my home feel ''outdoorsy'' camo nets for curtains, birds flying free [budgies], etc... you can take me out of the woods. Still, you can never take the woods out of me!... the thing about Melbourn is that if you have a big backyard, it is always full of wildlife... and wherever you live you're 10 minutes away from a Park, big or small... in my case even better, instead of a backstreet, I have a small park, and a huge Park is just 10 min walk from here... both teaming with wildlife... the sea, a lake and a river about a mile far [different directions] I can't make it through the day without my daily ''fix'' of Nature... Nice video... I like your ''tool'', of course, you can make everything you need using your primary tools out in the woods... or even at home... I fokin replaced the plastic handle of a brand new silicon spatula that I bought 3 days ago with a wooden branch that I got from a tree outside... and I found it the most normal thing to do... lol

Camo net curtains?!?! I love it 😂.. Might just have to do that myself.. One of these days I’m gonna have to visit the land down under.. Along with rounding the pummel end, something my Grandfather taught me when I was a kid, take a rock and rub the handle and pummel end. Less likely to get splits in the wood and less likely to get splinters. We would do this to walking sticks and then shove the ends into the campfire under the coals/ash. Great vid. I'm trying to get out to the woods at least twice a week. Struggling with losing weight, and want to regain muscle while doing it and woods craft seems to be the ticket (especially in the heat!!) I'm currently building a second 2 person + shelter (Lost the first due to the sale of the woods my friend and I used for camping) and applying all the things we screwed up on with the first. 100% agree about responsibly sourcing trees, if I take a green tree it's for a specific project or it's wind/fall damaged or crowded. Love doing projects while I'm out there. Spatulas, spoons, tongs, chairs, hammers, broom/rake etc... I made a mallet using the technique you used to make this but was saddened when the handle snapped off on the first hit. lol Live and learn, right? Enjoyed the video, might try to make one next time.
