I love your videos; of all the homeschool/from scratch mamas I watched on RU-vid, I can relate to how you do things the most. I also appreciate your biblical mindset ❤
As a wife and a momma of three children. One being stationed over seas, one 7 hours away and our youngest 17 and at home, but is looking into a college 5 hours away. I cherish time with them differently now. Oh precious time. It moves so quickly. I can't wait until we are all under one roof again. I can't wait to hear the laughter and conversations. I can't wait to cook huge meals again, a have messy kitchen. I cherish the memories of the old and the ones that will come. Tonight I speak Proverbs 31 over you, myself, our daughter's and the other women watching your content. Be blessed and carry on strong. You are doing a good thing for the works of the Lord.
I love your videos sooo much. I have homeschooled for 30 years. Still at it. It is refreshing to see you being real. I am sharing these with my homeschool daughters that are now homeschooling. The end talking about the memories was so true. All but 1 of my kids will be home for Thanksgiving. It is fun to hear them reminiscing about our holidays. We had lots of fun traditions. They are implimenting some in their own homes now. We would have fun being neighbors. Lol
I found you a couple of months ago & I love your channel. I’m a homeschool, homemaking, mini homesteader mom. I’ve been burnt out the last year. My mom was sick & passed away and it took a toll on me. Thanks for inspiring me again.
I am not the most engaged commenter, but I have been watching your videos for a while now. I am a 25 y/o wife who dreams of one day homemakimg for my family like you do. No kids yet, no idea how to homeschool, garden, prep from scratch. But watching your videos makes me feel like I have a spiritual mama/leader to give me the best tips amd biblical encouragement. Thank you. 🖤
I always cook two days and one day in advance so I can just stick things in the oven the day of. It is so much better that way. All I'll have to make are dinner rolls on the day of, really. I like your offer of baking cookies to get kids excited about cleaning. That's good. Definitely think it is wrong if people work themselves sick or stress out. That is not good. I love the togetherness of this holiday. I love being able to cook and be with people. It just feels so wonderful. Great job decluttering and prepping the home. I always loved that clothed with strength and dignity verse too. I also love how this chapter allows me to have permission to look cute while I do my cleaning and such (I am one who gets dressed right when I wake and am not fond of frumpiness).
Hello Friend! Yes, prep in advance is so much better. Same here with the frump! I badly need to go through and let go of a few clothing pieces that don't do my body justice any more, haha!
My mother- in- law is someone who has used the same knives for 50 years, they are awful! We bought her a good set one year for Christmas, she left them in the box and put it away and totally forgot about them. A few years later, we were fixing dinner for them and asked about the knives, she had forgot we even bought them and had no idea where they were.
I had a friend with a MIL who kept 'secret boxes' in a closet full of the gifts that her adult children would give her. She never like any of the gifts she received; very hard woman to please, I guess. So after the kids would leave, she would plop the gifts into boxes marked with her their name. Right before they would arrive for a visit she would go pick out of their 'box' & put things on display that she never left out any other time. Her DIL caught her doing it (she went in the secret box closet without permission to go in there on accident). She was hurt. She didn't buy her anything anymore. She felt it was so deceitful, instead of just being truthful.
Such a delight to watch, I love your home decor and the ending was so much fun with great music. I love your vlogs, your home is wonderful and I learn so much every time. Also i appreciate that you stress wellness and I love the relevant scripture reading. many thanks from the U.K.
I just adore you! The devotional was very sweet and encouraging. I love that you include that. ♡ Love all the tips! Especially the one about making a deal with the kids. 😄
Awe, thank you so much! I share bits and pieces of how I accomplish this in a lot of my videos on here, especially the ones on the mental loads on women!
One of your clips was you cleaning the kitchen cabinets, grrr I am in the middle of cleaning mine I am really hoping to give them a painting this week. We are all home and enjoying giving the house some love and attention. Thank goodness for vinegar and a spray bottle, that seems to do the trick to get all the stuff off.
Your cooking looks divine! Spanikopita is the best and I'm sure your family will have lots of wonderful holiday time memories. Thanks for the inspiration as well.
Thanks for the tips and Devo! I have two toddlers and I’m pregnant with #3. I have painful pregnancies so I cannot physically do what I’m normally capable of….so watching you get all this cleaning and cooking done is blowing my mind!!
I love when you share so many other areas/rooms of your home. Love the style. Thank you! You are so right about working yourself sick. I also was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, after years of burn out and overwhelm. ❤️
Dear I enjoy your content. You're a beautiful soul. I forgot that Thanksgiving is this week, since my son visited me for a week I was cooking for us. Enjoyed every minute of his company. My other children, grandchildren and great grandchildren will not visit me. Because of I live biblically, Jesus is my Lord and Savior. My son will visit in 2 weeks, what a blessing 💙. I remember all the children and their friends at the events at my home. The many foster children eating around the table with the children was a joyful time. My son and the foster children remember the good times. But my other children have a forgot our Father. I loss my health to pain and couldn't walk, my doctor saw me suffering alone then she sent me a prayer. After the prayer Jesus healed me. Not only my body but spiritually, I'm free, I'm whole, I have joy. So I praise my Father everyday. He carries me through the valley. He lives in me and I in him. Dear, life can have challenges but remember God is faithful. Smile because He loves you, Smile because you're free. Be steadfast when you see troubles. He has you ❤
I put WAY more effort into Thanksgiving than Xmas. I host a huge gathering of all the friends we have cultivated over the years, because we were lacking sane family to celebrate with. We avg. 30 people. I focus on the food & a romantic setting; wine, candles, fancy china, linens, etc... & then we play games. I put little tags or photos under peoples' plates, randomly, when setting the tables. They can redeem them if they get one for our fresh bacon, maple syrup, dozen eggs, homemade pie, jar of canned peaches, homegrown popcorn etc... I spend a couple of weeks making & buying little gifts that get put into paper bags & stapled shut. There is 1 trick present - a handful of shelled corn or a ketchup packet, something really odd & silly. When I ring a bell everyone has to trade bags, over & over again every time the bell goes off. Then at the the end whoever gets the 'silly' gift wins one of our fresh hams or one of our roaster chickens for their xmas dinner. I am always amazed that people FORGET the trick to the game - you want to hold onto the 'silly' gift! It is fun to watch people figure out what is in that bag & be so eager to 'get rid of it'. I NEVER change the rules & it is the same folks every year !!!!! We literally have people begging to come to our get togethers - they start calling a few weeks ahead wondering if they will get invited. LOL. xmas is a more religiously centered holiday for us & I want to focus on the goings on at church. We do the gift giving & some cooking but I am totally chilled about that holiday. I just want to have our tree & go to church. I will not bend on that. I want to go to midnight mass & i don't let anything get in the way of it! I have a mother who ruins holidays with her over achieving perfectionism & it creates a lot of anxiety in our family & a very hollow feeling holiday. I steer clear from anything that induces holiday anxiety these days. I WANT my kids to WANT to celebrate with me later in life. I am looking forward to grandkids!
Thank you for all your wonderful and most helpful videos. Also for the hard work you put into them. Absolutely love them. I love learning as much as I can. I pray you have a lovely Thanksgiving with friends and family..Many blessings… Oh I have those pants/PJ bottoms you’re wearing. Comfy for around the house
I love your table decor…simple and pretty! It will be easier to see someone’s face sitting across from you. Good job! Love the devotion too 🥰 Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!
I just discovered you here, and I thank God for your devotionals! Also, I love that our plates match! I was so excited I had to tell my husband that you are also a fan of lemons and affordable plate wear! 😂❤🙏
I think people would watch a cleaning video with music. As a SAHM it can be easier to get things done when it feels like someone else is too. And having you on in the background could help.
I love your videos. Usually, i clean along with you, but today im just watching since both my husband and i are down with covid. I do have a question though. I am done being intemidated by sourdough so im finally going to give it a try. I've never made it before. What should i look for when buying a starter or does it really matter?
Hello Stacey! Than you so much! Do you order from Azure Standard? I love the San Francisco sourdough starter they have, it's amazing!! I'm working on a sourdough video, btw!
So I am thinking to learn to bake gluten free sourdough....do you really need the kits with the basket and scraper etc? I'm trying to avoid buying unnecessary things that will add clutter...
