Here's my experience with the Ultimate Flush Trim wood working router bits by Whiteside. They're solid carbide compression bits that combine the advantages of an upcut spiral bit with the benefits of a downcut spiral. The UDP9112 has one bearing and a plunge type tip. The UDC9112 is a combination bit with two bearings for the ultimate flexibility when pattern routing. As long as your setup allows a bearing to contact your pattern, you're all set to make a smooth cut.

Whiteside generously provided the router bits for this test, however the opinions offered are my own. Look for other great router bit and saw blade videos on theThoughtfulWoodworker / thethoughtfulwoodworker

Very nice demo of the compression capability. If you only could get one, would it be the plunge or dual bearing version?

I would start with the double bearing version. It's a very versatile bit. For plunging operations you can get by with smaller diameter spiral bits. Best

I bought UDC9112 and a bearing in the middle of the router bit is moving slightly and grinding a metal stopper. Other bearing is rock solid and does not move at all. I wonder if it is normal or should I get another copy? I afraid that middle bearings will be heating as it touches the metal stopper.

The bearing may appear to move slightly as it engages the template, but I've never experienced any grinding with these bearings. With the router unplugged, see if you can wiggle the bearing on the shaft. If not, maybe just see how it performs. Whiteside is pretty good to work with if you have issues with their products. Best of luck with it.

Have you had any experience with a shearing straight bit?

If I understand you correctly, you're asking about bits that look similar to a straight bit, but have a slight angle to the carbide edge. Yes, I've used those and actually they perform quite well. Best of luck.
