No need to compare, bro. Mate Xs has larger screen and yet almost 50% thinner, 200% better camera resolution, it has internal storage 512GB + nano card 256GB. I will wait for next 5 years to see if the Fold comes close.

Why do people in comment section complain about Huawei not having gms but embracing iPhone without gms as well?🤔 It's like finding fish in dessert hahaha... Gms is just for Android phone and I think Huawei is not an android anymore (if global version will run HarmonyOS) correct me if I'm wrong.

Great comparison! I am a fold 3 user and rarely open for use other than reading. I have to say I am ratger disappointed with the smaller screen on the front which is coincidently the one that I use more frequently. Its rather narroweness makes it quite difficult to write... that is a MAJOR issue, believe me. The Hauwei seems a good option

I'm the opposite. I only EVER use the big screen for virtually everything. I only use the small screen for quick calls, nfc payments etc. That being said, of course a bigger screen is always better than a smaller screen.

I'm surprised you primarily use the exterior screen. The only thing i use my exterior screen for is checking notifications, pictures, my TV remote app, and sometimes the Uber driver app.

I'm the opposite, I only use the exterior screen to make calls, everything else, i will use the internal screen. Thus this folding phone is the best phone I had use so far.

I would honestly get the Huawei if google was still present. Huawei has always been an innovative brand and I followed them for a while, but after the ban, they just don’t appeal to me anymore. Great review as always, have a nice day!

@Julius Kelvin Can you expand on it a little bit. I am very tech-savvy and would find workarounds for anything on android phones, but from what I heard is that when you sideload Google apps on Huawei, you can't log in. For example, when you install Google Maps, you can search and browse the maps just like everyone else, but you can't login with you Google account, and can't save or look up any of your Favorites, etc. (limited functionality). I also heard that Huawei lacks some certification for banking apps - meaning, again, you can sideload the apps if you want, but loging in to your account doesn't process. Not sure if that's true or not. I wonder how those restrictions work (both for Google apps and Banking apps). Do the apps check the IMEI number of your device, or what exactly? Or is that just a myth, and all apps actually work when sideloaded? I don't want to spend 2k to just try it out. I'd rather want to know in advance. Your input is much appreciated guys.

I would suggest to keep checking the update. Out of the sudden my Huawei P40 Pro+ can download google apps (maps, drive, youtube, gmail, translate etc) via either Huawei AppGallery or Petal Search just few weeks ago. They work perfectly fine and I can "share to google drive" via shortcut just like before the ban. Note: My location is SG, I am not sure if it works for other countries.

The differences don't stop at what you listed. There's also no 5G support for current Huawei flagship devices, being limited to 4G, only. Still super fast, but perhaps a sore point for people who think that having the highest numbers means everything. This isn't, of course, Huawei's fault. It's on account of the US government basically wielding the regulatory system as an anti-competitive weapon against any company that threatens to dethrone their own devices from "World's most used" devices. I would LOVE to own a Mate XS2, but it's priced a bit above my paygrade, mixed with my not really feeling like I used the folding function of the Galaxy Fold 1, when I owned it, back at launch. It was a cool phone for a few days, then became a pain to unfold each time I wanted to use it, so I went back to slab style phones. Maybe the whole foldable feature will become something I'll want later, but we're not there, yet. Anyhow, thanks for this comparison, it was enjoyable to watch.

Ngl the xs mate looks really good compares to the z fold 3. If i were to buy one I'd pick xs mate anyday. And i think android is pretty flexible enough even without gms, as you can toggle around something to make it work. Anyway bro iam really impressed with your video quality, it never disappointed me and always fun to watch. I really hope your channel will grow bigger. I will always support your work bro✊.

My main issue would be the screen on the Huawei, being an external folding screen. As the screen is exposed 100% of the time, it seems to me that it would constantly be exposed to the elements, like tabletops, pocket or purse, with no protection. No one seems to address that fact. I mean, if they make cases for much harder, glass back phones because they might scratch, then why wouldn't a much softer, exposed screen with no case, not scratch? Also, can the split screen be horizontal, as well as, vertical?

I don't understand why no companies stress on these: #1 Two screens fold, joined up to edges when unfolded. This tech is already there. Just about closing the gap over the hinge. #2 just have a rolling screen and not compromise on thickness (kind of an extension to what Huawei has done)

Fellow Malaysian and Fold 3 owner here. I would have to give props to Huawei for innovating a totally different take to foldable phones, but the main screen facing outwards is just too much of a heart attack waiting to happen for me. Just a personal preference after holding the Xs 2, the phone is also very thin, making is hard to hold (at least for me), I don't mind a slightly thicker phone if it give me a little more surface to hold it securely. I think where Huawei wins hands down is the camera which I think was a wasted opportunity for the Fold 3, otherwise I would say it definitely one of the best phone experiences i have had in awhile.

@@Prince88980 Oh I have. I think Samsung’s Fold form factor is not ideal. It’s bulky, thick and heavy. The front screen is a compromise. That makes the inside screen an extension of a compromised screen. The only good thing about Galaxy Folds is that they have Google Play Services that Huawei doesn’t (there’s a workaround though). If you are in the market for a foldable phone, I think you should either get Huawei or wait for the tech to mature a bit more.

Why is it that other countries when it comes to certain things of course make better foldable phones, I wish I can get the other brand but I have the fold3 and I heard that it's only available in China which sucks so none of our cellular services will work with it.. hopefully soon we'll get some update regarding that phone :-(

Folding phones are just a silly idea IMHO, the crease in the middle is just annoying. I wouldn't mind a folding phone with 2 separate screens (without crease in the middle) or a folding phone with keyboard on one side and screen on another.

Thank you for your feedback, the whole idea of having a crease is one of the reasons I highlighted about it in the video, at this moment of time, having a foldable phone is not only a new invention but the multitasking features and video consumption on a big screen which you can fold and put in your pocket is definitely something that you need to try and use it at least for a month to appreciate, nevertheless, thank you for your feedback 🙂

You have to try it first! I am using galaxy z flip 3 and the crease isn't noticeable when you get used to it. Its visible if you look for it but most of the times, you won't even notice it.

I have been using the Samsung Z 3 fold for months now and works beautifully. No complaints. Very reliable and excellent performance as a work phone and brilliant pics. Great display. I have never tried a Hwawei and why would I when I have a Samsung?

You keep switching the sides of each phone. Once Huawei left then next time right. Let's say what if I'm watching the video without volume, both screens open no one can tell which is which. At some point I'm thinking oh wow Samsung has better stats but then actually it was the Huawei. So confusing. Keep the phones on one area. Samsung left and Huawei right and stick to that. Surely in the end of the video what about side to side stat comparison ? The mobiles have been changing places.

Problem with Huawei phones is not able to use bank apps such as Google Pay .i.e. no contactless payment and/or can't log in U.S. banks because all Huawei phones are not Google Certified. I do have many Huawei phones. Hardwarewise and softwarewise it beats any phones in the world including Chinese competition brands. Samsung phones are far behind, not even to other Chinese brands. I was forced to use Samsung phones because of Google. Mind you that Huawei or China Government can read/write your Huawei phone, beware if you care about your privacy to China CCP.

Don't ever buy huawei phones . i got my matexs2 and 2 month later i had a weird big spot on the screen i went to fix it as it was under warranty. One month later i had the same big spot . now they ask me for 3000aed to fix it . never had this experience with any phone

google fanboys wake up.. we are now finally living in a post-google reality, yes we know who's behind huawei, don't sweat the 'no playstore thing' there are easy workarounds for 99% of all apps (apk pure and aptiode for example are two I use) only app I have been unsuccessful with is my bank (who's services I access via a normal browser tab instead & for some reason unknown to me Map My Walk) I'm not technically-minded but I worked it out. huawei innovating the best tech nowadays, leaving samsung in the smoke, apple is dead and buried, the ban was really done to take the wind out of their sails as nsa use node taps on you guys anyway so spare me the national security talking points, they're all at it, might as well go with the best technology for your buck.
