I absolutely agree with the launches feeling inconsistent at times. Have been watching taxi for a while, pathfinder feels great but it’s always rough knowing my cooldown will be 30 seconds. I’m always look forward to watching your content as a console player any little movement technique can make such a wild difference in survivability looking forward to using the air strafing tech with octane
If I'm not mistaken the only reliable way to launch from under that I've found is, to have someone else activate it as you climb or jump (being against the cannon and high enough up)
The underside of the cannon pointing to the lightning rod has the glitch where it sends you if you’re under it. Me and my friend found this out when we were using it for cover in a final ring and it sent him off the map🤦♂️🤦♂️
Thank you for keeping my love of this game alive, I lost interest a loooong time ago but then I built a PC and fell in love with movement all over again - I never played TF 1/2 so Apex was my introduction to this movement tech, and again, thank you Mokey
At 11:21 both players land or throw something at the corner What if something or someone has to hit the corner before using the canon Same as that season one glitch where you punch the supply bin then jump on it to send you flying Maybe punching throwing or landing on the corner from a high jump? Horizon throws an arc star And pathfinder lands on the corner
In some cases if you grapple jump before hitting a gravity cannon you get sent just past the barrier. (which stops you from keeping momentum) This in turn means you either edgeboost or hit a slope sending you foward quite a decent amount. The best way to do it is to run in to the cannon as much as possible and grapple jump at the last possible second. Hit and miss though
I'm sure you know this, but standing halfway on a the staircase at the edge of a cannon and crouch walking towards the cannon, right up until it activates will launch you the opposite direction. Only works on some cannons, like the one going up hill from stormcatcher, it can be used to get to the roof of stormcatcher from the ground very quickly. It also works on the cannon at the bottom of the hill south of stormcatcher, that normally launches you up the hill to stormcatcher. it launches you to the crates closer to the nearby buildings, considerably faster than running.
The top gravity cannon at command center that launch u toward the little house near Storm Catcher can be taken by underneath that makes you get launched just a little and make u stay on the opening / fall near the cliff without having to land on that house (if enemies are holding it or to trick enemies following u) same goes for the gravity cannon at The Wall that launch u to North Pad.
The cannon by Cenote cave, if you crouch under the left wall of the grav cannon it will launch, throwing you up in into the air because you're blocked by the cannon wall. I don't think it works on others. Maybe a couple but I couldn't recreate it on other cannons. It's also doesn't launch you as high as putting a rev totem down because of the angle of the wall.
You can get some pretty weird results from running a zip line throug a gravity Canon I was able to super jump on the zip line and the Canon launched me further and higher
If i remember, there are cannons where the front sides are a bit buried in the ground, and the people stood under the cannon with the ground as a foothold, they touched the cannon, they got launched, they may also have crouched under it there's one in the lightning rod, near one, or is it west of highpoint? i forgot, all i know is it's a northern cannon that is buried a bit
You can tapstrafe mid fly as valk while tapping your jump, kinda like octane 2nd jump when using jump pad. That lets you stop most of the forward momentum and you can start going sideways/stop moving altogether. I use it all the time
@Mokeysniper 2 weeks into this season I reduced the gravity Canon boost by roughly half. I did that 2 times with the cannon going the storm catcher coming from the top. I dunno how I did it and I haven't got any videoproof. The only thing I can tell you is that I failed a try doing a skipjump at the side of the cannon. Haven't seen any other videos of that so I thought it was a glitch not worth mentioning, but this is the perfect video for it I guess. Have a great day fellas
1. Cryptos drone has 360 degree scan 2. You initially throw the drone. Not immediately going to drown mode. 3. The travel path for the drone would be 45 meters in a straight line to where ever you’re looking at. (Or until it hits something) 4. Travel speed when throwing would be max flight speed. 5. Can take control whenever. As normal. This could allow for faster drown set ups. And emps can happen more reactively
Another Bait Tip: You can use mirages decoy to fake a grav cannon retreat! It makes people think you took cannon sometimes and it can be useful in a few situations!
It's small, but if you take the cannon from Launch Pad > Fish Farm, holding backwards will land you ontop of the building at the other end, like right on the roof, instead of the sand below. Very useful for either escaping and setting up an ambush, or joining a fight
To trigger a 2x-4x distance jump, activate the ultimate using your hotkeys or what ever inputs you have, do not use the ultimate, just trigger the animation, then use a heal or a battery to charge your shield, also works with heirloom animations like the punch trick you showed. There is also another way to literally break the game like back in season 1/2 of apex legends like punching the loot pills to gain nearly infinite jump damage potential. This requires the use of you swapping your scopes from one gun to another right as you step onto the cannon. Doing so without closing the screen till you are launched into the air sends you flying across the map altogether.
for the 15:35 question you have: maybe do a walljump under the canon? maybe use horizon for this one so you can keep close to the cannon? or one of those legends that can stay up high but under the canon?(valk, path)
You have provided me three videos but I've been helpful entertaining and just generally good contact you've earned my subscription and I thank you for the very helpful tips
on the valkyrie one, i actually commented on one of your videos about the tricks you said in this video and in that comment i also talked about some other tricks. you don't have to do the jetpacks right before you land. in reality it is better to do when you are a little bit into the downward movement part of the arc because you get a little bit more distance and you can also jetpack 1 or 2 more times to gain even more distance if the situation allows such as more space behind the cannon or slopes behind the cannon.
Hey Mokeysniper I think you may already know this but when using valk, but when you use her passive onto a zipline then hop off you get a slower falling and reduces your gravity, I notice that this helps me in some fights when you you hop off then use your shotgun to hit an enemy, it gives you more time to aim and throws off the enemy eyes because they didn't expect that, idk just something I was thinking about
There's a glitch I've used for clips, it works best on storm catcher on cannon by the two ziplines. If you hold forward on the sides of the cannon without entering it, it activates without you being inside the cannon and sends you flying backwards instead.
I’m not sure if the practicality of this, but if you start your ultimate as valk before the cannon launches you you’ll stay in the cannon. As soon as you cancel it, you should get launched again. Not sure if it works on teammates that join or if the cannon plays the launch animation again after canceling since I’ve only tried it a couple times, but it seems interesting. Great video!
One more interaction for a bamboozle I dont beleive was mentioned but may have in the short section on ults, Valk ult will just hold you in place instead of jumping. You can enter, ult and either sky jump, stop ult and leave cannon or take cannon
Could there be an interaction between the hyper jump glitch you get from prowler nests with the gravity cannons? Or has that glitch been patched already?
I usually just jump into the right side wall of a cannon if I'm trying to gain a bit of extra distance on a cannon or land on the ramp edge / bottom ramp of the cannon instead of landing straight in the middle
"While we're on the topic of baiting enemies", Mirage decoys take gravity cannons, and it confuses the hell out of people. I've even bamboozled my teammates with this several times lol. People often end up following the decoy like 90% of the time. Teammates included😂
The cannon pointing out of command center (the one up high) activates if you climb up the front underside part but it mostly flings you against the wall/ledge up there, which could be useful for getting over the wall and escaping unpredictably or smth idk
the super gravity one works in 2 ways but is almost random, but you increse your % just jumping nothing else, 2 steps in, jump just when is about to boost youm the second one is when you're getting attacked and no weapon in hand, the randomnes is 2 out of 10 jumps while doing nothing (with no gun) with gun is just jumping,
As a german, i find it quite interesting how mokey speaks really good english, but occasionally sticks with a very german intonation and rythmicality. While it can sound a bit odd sometimes, i am fascinated by how well this actually works.
I don’t have a ton of info on it but there seemed to also be a way to decrease your distance if you and a teammate enter the cannon at the exact same time. Ive had it happen to me several times where my angle has been lowered and I get kind of a dead jump off the cannon
I would like to say that I found out the vertical jump on a canon with the death box and I posted it on apex rollouts naming it the vertical super launch
It happened twice to me that after taking it, it send me off at a really low angle with the same speed. I have the clips, but I cant really analyse it or replicate it yet.
I had the double distance gravity cannon happen to a friend of mine while we were playing. They were playing ash and used the cannon north of the prowler area toward south pad and made it like 1.8x distance, we were so confused and tried replicating it for multiple games.
You can just stop midflight (shot from gravity cannon) with valk if you use your passive longer and in the direction of the gravity cannon that launched you
I recently started practicing 180 degree tap strafes in gravity canons. Which are very difficult too hit 100% I've gotten like one or two decent ones, but no perfect one. But one thing I randomly stumbled upon in a game was walking into the canon backwards and tapstrafing 180 degrees, yes backwards. I'll try to find the clip and post it in reddit. Since I too need pointers in perfecting it.
Not a movement thing but I found out while playing with a random form a group post that one of the cannon you can get past the invisible wall a bit and get under it and if someone takes the cannon it can kill u idk if other cannons can do this
I found that if you go just barely into the cannon and jump backwards before launch, it will make you travel really fast. It doesn’t always work, sorry for not being super precise.
You missed one : If you punch boost backwards while the cannon is firing it lanches up or sometimes lower i did not figure out how to control the angle but it changes the angle
I was able to launch from underneath a cannon on the one above command center that leads to storm catcher. I was able to crouch on the lip and launch from there. Upvote this so Mokey can see it.
11:21 in this clip it seems like it was punched just before the canon was activated, in the other clips i couldn't find anything... thanks for the great content as always mokey :)
If you go to the gravity cannon south east of the cenotaph cannon and walk against the edge of the cannon you get launched backwards (Sorry if you don’t know what I mean. I don’t know how to explain it well)
In regard to the super gravity cannon, it looks like all 3 players did a very quick 180 degree flick. No idea if this is useful or not but thought I’d comment anyway.
