Random observation: I’ve lived in Japan for about 1.5 years. The biggest difference I’ve noticed between English and Japanese is the flow. As native English speakers, I think we tend to try to make our words flow. Japanese on the other hand is a lot more jagged and staccato. I’m not fluent yet. But when trying to hone my accent, it’s something I’ve noticed and wanted to pass it on. 上手の日本をがんばりましょう！時間ありがとうございました。よろしくお願いします！
Just returned from 10 days in Japan and absolutely loved it. Now learning Japanese as I want to be able to talk more to everyone next time as everyone was so friendly. Thanks for this video.
YOU ARE A LEGEND IM SO HAPPY I FOUND YOU. I've been looking for someone who touches on the nuance of pronunciation. It's super important to me and you do it very well. Edit: the Tsu romaji is cause for us english people, the sound made for that character isn't natural for us, and it needs to be written in that there's a slight s sound in there. TS sound together before a vowel is uncommon and unnatural for us. ex:) craftsmanship, antidepressants, postsynaptic. the TS in postsynaptic, if you don't know, sounds like post-synaptic.

Arigatou gozaimasu for making a Hiragana learning video without too much extra conversation. This way it is more usedull to listen over and over. You questioned why the Romanji Tsu is used instead of Tu. I am glad it is transcribed and Tsu because as an English speaker, the s in Tsu really helps with pronouncing the unique sound.

THANKS for the great video, Taka. Having your face showing the mouth movements for the sounds is very helpful. As a beginner, I think for me, I'd prefer to not have wrong pronunciation included as it distracts my hearing memory from the correct.

definitely tongue posturing and these sounds with the muscle movements English have u touching ur roof constantly while Japanese has a laid down tongue most of the time

would have been nice to hear all the kana combinations ALL AT ONCE, one after another without constantly stopping to explain... would have made a nice audio file for reference? something to listen to while running or whatever.
The script is unnecessarily complex. Need to separate consonants and vowels and then just merge the two for a specific sound as in the Indian Devanagiri script. So, म (consonant M) + आ (vowel aa) gives you मा (Maa = Mother).
I am a born South African. We went to Japan when was 5. My parents put me in Yochi-en shortly after arriving. I realised on the first day everybody could read and write...except me. So at home I found this alphabet toy and played with it over and over. Till one day we were driving through town and I realised I could read all the buildings' writing and all the posters and Bill boards. I was 5. It was the first language i could read and write. After 2 years we came back to SA. I didn't know the alphabet and couldn't read or write my own language. So I had to teach that to myself as well. The teachers were pathetic...but they couldn't understand me. They just thought I was really, really stupid and dumb. Learning my own language was much more difficult than learning Japanese!!
Japanese is a cake walk for us, when compared to other folks. The grammer is similar, phonology is similar, honorifics, they even have grammar for onomatopoeia like us. Instead of teaching stupid Hindi, they should have taught us Japanese.
Bahasa indonesia lebih mudah dipelajari dibandingkan bahasa inggris selain menggunakan huruf alfabet juga tidak mengenal tenses,kemarin,hari ini dan besok sama saja waktunya tidak ada perbedaan tenses,kosa katanya diambil dari berbagai bahasa dunia,seperti belanda,inggris,arab,spanyol dll.juga bahasa daerah.karna jumlah bahasa dan etnis di indonesia mencapai ratusan tapi disatukan dgn satu bahasa bahasa indonesia,bule dari eropah dan amrik bisa bahasa indonesia dalam waktu yg singkat karena bahasa indonesia itu simple tidak berbelat belit dan rumit seperti bahasa inggris.
The r sound hiragana is the hardest to pronounce for me hahaha, since I am so used to pronounce it like ‘rr’. Will work hard to get there though! Thanks for this pleasant lesson.
Its a bit more easy to pronounce if you know how to roll your r's but for now you could just say la, li ,lu, le, lo. Its not the exact pronunciation but its pretty close
@@eveningmerald oh jeez, that pronunciation is hard for me too but I can kind of do it, I think it’s more like tapping your tongue on the roof of your mouth, not so much rolling your r’s. I’ve never been able to roll my r’s. I don’t know how people do it. ;-;
