I think this summarizes it: Affordable -> ipad 9 Less affordable, nice online meetings via middle camera -> ipad 10 Heavy studying -> iPad Pro 12.0” On-the-go light studying/ not-taking -> iPad mini Kind of a mixture of everything -> iPad Air
I’m thinking of getting an iPad for college. I’m going into my last semester of undergrad and then plan on going to grad school. I’m a math major/statistics double major. The iPad 10th gen 256gbs is the same price as the iPad Air 5th gen. Since they’re the same price should I get the air instead ?
@@NikiasMolina yeah im ok with a non laminated display on say $100 ipod but on a freaking $300+ ipad cmon. This is coming from a macbook user. The only worthy product from apple IMO.
I think The iPad 9 offers a great balance of performance and affordability with its A13 Bionic chip and competitive price. Its sleek design, support for the Apple Pencil, and access to the App Store make it a versatile and attractive option for a wide range of users. Plus, Apple's commitment to software updates ensures long-term value. But you get what you think you need😅😊 and thank you for reading this whole thing😊❤
I’d recommend getting an older used or refurbished iPad Pro 2018, 2nd gen pencil, and a Logitech Combo Touch. My only problem is that it needs a bigger footprint, so it’s not great to type on a small desk. iPads 10 is simply not worth it and lacks too many of the pro features.
Great video! I love the air but the problem I always have is the storage. Base 64 is just not good enough. Once you hit 256, I feel it's just better to get the M2 pro. Sorry this may just be me trying to justify my purchase haha
i have a macbook pro (2018) 256gb so for the iPad I have taken the air 64 gb and have bought an external SSD (2TB) using the SSD for both and have ample space left Only works if you have a laptop of the above specs
just traded my ipad pro 12.9 2017 to s23u. its not that i dont like it but i already experienced whats gonna happen when apple devices stopped recieving ios updates. apps wont run anymore and ipad pro 2017 being almost near its end i had to trade it in asap. i might get ipad pro m2 when m3 comes out😂
ipad 9th gen is practically a beast ! with good chip, insane battery life and budget friendly its just perfectt. i just upgraded to air 5, the battery drains so fast and i kinda regretted it a lil bit
I don’t recommend any student to buy a iPad 10. Save some money and get a refurbished iPad Air or even the iPad mini. Heck, even the iPad 9 is a way better value. Thank me later.
iPad 9 is my iPad. I’m using it for short term classes to better myself as a plumber through my union hall. So all I do is use a certain app and maybe take a few notes. Not spending the extra money for something im not going to be using all the time. To each their own if you have the fancier iPads congratulations hope you get the most out of your investment for your particular need.
I just wanted to tell you that this video was great! Also, i picked up the iPad 10 and it is awesome just like you said! I think it is really worth the money!
Watched the video. Definitely think the Ipad 9 is the best possible iPad to use as a TABLET. Video editing on an ipad really? Ipad 9 does 100% of what a tablet should do, like checking email, taking notes, using apps as a second screen experience on the couch. Basically handles anything I would need when away from my LAPTOP.
Hardly ever used my IPAD PRO work Work… Work will always be on my MacBook Pro. My IPad Pro is solely for Entertainment purposes and playing games. Unless Apple upgrades pad software but honestly student just go for a mac
Hello , Love your work , kindly reply as I am planning to buy IPAD AIR 5 (64GB) for my NOTES (goodnotes + freeform ) as well as DRAWINGS ( procreate + concepts ) and for storing pdfs . Now 256 is bit costlier for me so I am thinking about grabbing an external SSD to use along with 64gb Air 5 . SSD will be cheaper than upgrading to 256gb Air 5 . but I am not sure if that will be practical or not ? and how many times a week I have to transfer my files ?
I want to purrchase an ipad which i would use for my studies basically ( I'm gonna be an mbbs student). Is ipad air 4th gen a good option for me ?? Or should I buy ipad 9th or 10th gen. And i can't afford all other ipads bcz they are so expensive i would cry ( literally ipad air 5 is also very expensive to me) . Please guide me with what i should buy.
if i had infinite money i wouldnt be buying the 12.9 inch, id get the 11 inch its just way too close to a laptop the point I could just get a touch screen laptop with better specs (except processor probably) for cheaper
I am a first year university student i am looking to buy a new one for my whole university because i am not able to take good notes on my laptop and its heavy too
The iPad mini is a really solid device to use when there is a computer of any type. It’s hard to beat for everything that would essentially be iPad. I highly recommend the mini even though it is two years old. If one can wait for the iPad mini 7, I think this would be the most excellent choice for students… with a computing device.
hi, can you do this guide for 2024? i would like to see comparison including m2 ipad air thanks you so much for this video im thinking about ipad 10 because of its price in 2024 (256 gb) and air m2. besides i have macbook and i plan use it mostly for notetaking and watching movies. what would you recommend?
Idk i bought ipad 9 and it was underwhelming. It gets warm while doing basic things. Making notes heat the screen. Only charges while switched on. Charge 10% in an hour while its off. Battery life equal to phone.
hi man thanks for this kind of videos i have kinda question is that recently I bought ipad 9 th generation and I can't understand home button because when I press it doesn't give haptic feedback like previous models When i press it just click simple without giving any emotion that I recieved from ipad 6 or iphon
I was graced to pick up an iPad Pro 11 M2 on a sale, at my Base Exchange for only $600 brand new. Also grabbed an M1 iPad Air for my mom, $399. If you have a military friend or family member tell them, crazy sale right now.
Students shouldn't look beyond the iPad 9. It's by far the least expensive iPad, and does everything the more expensive iPads do. You make way too much of case design and laminated glass. It has no effect on utility. Speaking of utility, the money saved getting the iPad 9 can go toward paying their utility bills, instead of wasting it on stuff like newer design and laminated glass.
If I were to upgrade my iPad 8 to a better one what would I do. I want to read music on it and take notes on the music. But I also want to game. And the games I’d play are like Angry Birds Reloaded all the way up to 2k mobile which has started to crash on my current device.
IMO unless the budget is the constraint, no one should get the 9th gen. 10th gen should be the base, Air should be the most popular, and Pro should be the high-end. For how old the design is and the features, I just don’t think it’s worth it considering you can get so much more with the 10th gen. Then the Air is just so much ahead of that one.
The iPad works amazingly the box came a little dirty, ru-vid.comUgkxUGaHtKW8MwCql2fPyIm9-ftTqSMzKFFA no plastic wrap, but the box was sealed and had everything else in the box along with the wrapping, the iPad itself is gorgeous, I got the yellow 64g game storage is good for me along with Socials and school stuff. No scratches or marks came with the charger and box fast speed, and if you are buying a pen get the 1st gen don’t make the mistake I did !!
Upgraded from iPad 7th gen to the Air 5, no regrets at all. The 10th gen had pretty colors but the fact that I had to use an adapter to charge the Apple Pencil was so stupid in my opinion.
I have a refurbished ipad mini 2 that has a cracked screen lol. After watching this video and others, i’m sold on the latest model of the ipad mini so i’m rolling with that for school. Plus the price for 64GB with wifi seems more doable for me.
iphone 14 pro max has air gap too everytime i tap on the screen theres a hollow sound makes the experience cheap. my ipad pro has it but it louder on ip14pmax. so i dont know why laminated ipads has that hollow sound
recently got myself refurbished air 4 and gotta say its kinda overkill for notetaking but still pretty good to consume media 🤤 (really you will be fine with just 9 for such activities aaaand i see no reason to get ipad 10)
@@mrtoasticles7144 depends. i got one myself only cuz its the best value for a tablet on my market and i wanted to swap to digital notes. other than that i would not buy a tablet. pc and smartphone do the trick for me
@@Vijaythalapathy28 512gb 11 inch. Love it's portability but I'm debating should I return it and get the 12.9 for it's better quality display and the more screen real-estate for multi tasking and area for creativity apps like photo and video editing...
@@Cookieclickinglegacy it's amazing love it's probably and in hand feel. I got the 11 inch version but I'm in mixed minds about it. Because I'm debating whether I should return it and get the 12.9 inch for it's better display and the screen real-estate but at the expense of weight and portability... hard decision
😂😂 no bcs I meant it like this: yes I have iPad Pro for school. And I’m ok with usbc. But i said I prefer it more bcs there are more lightning connectors then usbc. And in my eyes there is no point in usbc in future. Apple will make port less iPhone in future
im not sure how ipad could really be useful in school. i was in college 4years ago tried using it as computer but it couldnt even edit word assignments from teachers. other than writting notes ipads cant even be use on simple assignments so how can it be used on more complex or serious projects
Thanks for the vid!...I really like it cuz' for me I'm the one who cannot deceide what to choice when I'm in the story & I hot there 5x times and couldn't deceide cuz' I tryed to collect more money to buy something more expensive & good for a long-distance that I can use. I'm personally Samsung user but the thing is that I'm sceptical about battery and by far I know my phone dies fast that I have to carry around Battery Backpack with me all the time. Also I wanted to try the iPhone cuz' already I skipped two verision of Samsung Galaxy serie cuz' I don't see it as a need for a huge upgrade beside the cameras so not so important for me as I don't use it often. As for a tablet that I need I wil probably end up buying iPad as you literally charge it and you forgat as it is cuz' battery optimization & iOS is a beast and no lagging & bugs + you invest in iPad Idk €1500 and for the next 4-5 years you get iOS updates which I like cuz' with Android only like 1-2 years and you're done with New Android Futures...so...yeah... I'm the one who used a lot Android phones but sometimes maybe you want to change cuz' both sides between Apple & Samsung... each side has some advantages that you can't compare against the each brand cuz' you will be literally making ground & clouds togather and there is huge difference between Android & iOS as it is. 😅😊🫠
it depends of your major and what you do. I used macbook air and my 1stgen ipad but I have barely used my iphone for my studies (except for language apps to review my vocabulary). I don't care about the latest gen iphone, I am good with refurbished iphone SE. I even complained that at work they proovided me with the latest model of iphone as I had an older one (I couldnt keep the old one). The latest was too big and too much for what I needed (the face id was an annoyance too). I had a tablet so such phone was way too redudant (I hate redudancies). If you don't major in a creative department (social science, stem etc), don't get an iphone but instead an ipad as you can study and read comfortably without killing your wrists or neck (like with a laptop or smartphone). However, advance phone can be interesting in a work setting when you don't have a tablet (I worked also aborad and my iphone 6 was my portable office). So think about what you want to do (take note, read pdf --> ipad , basic tasks such as scanning and checking your schedule + emails + quid read --> iphone). You can also go both by getting a refurbished iphone which is cheaper (and better for the environment) as newer iphones are not worth the hype for student or people that don't require the best camera and the biggest screen out there. I addition don't keep a phone as long as a tablet (I kept my tablet 10 years). so you can get a cheap iphone and an ipad air 4 (because of the pen, I am considering on getting the air 4 with the biggest GB rather than the 64GB, I don't game anymore and I want it to be able to write notes, read and study - there is always stuff to study ;) ). I hope it helps.
@@mauddescamps7572 I was actually planning to get a new iPhone for communication, calling school and text messages while saving up some money for a future iPhone, One of the required school apps I don't know if it would work on the iPhone. Would it be a good plan to save up money for a future iPad while obtaining a new iPhone for communication?
