Ever wanted to be good at Ken? Same! But Y’know WHATS better? Being social and finding ppl who care about you. Have you tried being loved? Welp if you haven’t pull up to my discord!! discord.gg/jQCy3nT
I'm a big street fighter fan but I wasn't playing Ken because I was too lazy to train hard with him. Your guide will make it much easier dude, thank you
I knew hard up tilt was busted, but never knew the fact it jad i frames on his waist up, thats why i was able to beat out so mant things, plus its cancellable with focus for juggle situations! Up tilt OD
I now associate Ken's Crescent and Roundhouse kicks as segments on how to perform Terry's Power Geyser. Ganon is good and all, but I'm having too much fun with the stick wiggling. I've also tried breaking shields and connecting the two moves, to get the best damage off of a stationary one-time engagement instead of stopping and going multiple times.
Nice bro. Way to represent my home state with the shotos. 👌🏾 I remember your old channel. Good to see that you are feeling much better and are on that grind.
Nice vid! Crazy part about it is, this is his regular move kit glad they stayed loyal to his roots. I'm new to smash I play, regular fighting games so I picked ken and ryu off the dribble. I bang with this jawn tho
damn i wish you explained the different inputs on heavy jab, light f tilt ect, like what are the different inputs between f tilt, heavy f tilt, light f tilt ect
Ken Heavy f-tilt is my favorite mixup kill confirm. No one expects it. In a tech chase scenario where your opponent may roll away to the edge of the stage you can follow up with this and it kills pretty early with the sweet spot. Which shouldn’t be hard to hit his moves are proximity/ input based.
Ken's heavy ftilt does nice damage and sends them on a good angle, but its so bad when you miss or if they block though, it practically guarantees you're gonna get punished. Why not use Ken's faster and safer downtilt to hitconfirm into an axe kick KO at the same percent? Plus, if you miss, you only threw a downtilt, you don't have to worry about it
I was wondering if you do the multiple down/up tilts with the tilt stick or a? I tried it out in training mode and doing multiple light down tilts with the tilt stick felt very difficult to me.
I live in Atlanta but I never know where any smash tournaments are being held. I don’t have a lot of friends who care about the competitive scene. Anyone know where I can see where tournaments are being held in my area to spectator/Maybe Compete?
Bro, his dair is great, idk what you're talking about. It can spike, plus, it can combo into light uptilt (once or twice) and carry the opponent offstage with tatsu for roughly 30%, or if it switches direction, after tatsu ends, grab up throw to shoryouken for 54ish%
Well again man, great guide, really detailed, exactly what I was hunting for. Definitely gonna be checking out that Terry guide soon. Are you planning on making guides for other characters at all?
We understand what owning the skies means. What we don't understand is how to even do the basic inputs for moves like heavy up tilt - you don't even explain that.
if you mean up tilt then what you do it Hold the left stick up halfway and press A you do all the tilts that way, just don’t flick the stick too fast or you’ll input a smash attack which are usually slower but hit harder
I don't even know how to perform most of the moves, in this video the moves are showned but they don't say how to perform each... I'll have to forget mastering Ken.
You said to learn how to do ptilt but never explained how to do it. Just talked about how good it is & to make sure to learn how to use it. I'm new to Ken so that didn't help much.. I just tapped A & then c stick (set to tilt) but it doesn't always come out & idk if that's the consisten, best, or proper way to do that move. Just figured that out.
I'm not planning on picking up ken I just needed to know wtf people were talking about in the anti ken twitter threads. Idk what a medium shoryu double hit is lol
shoryu has 3 states pretty much, i think it’s like this Super light true input = 1 hit no fire Light true input = 2 hits no fire Normal/Heavy true input = multi hit with fire
I see when some people do a heavy jab to true shoryu, they turn the shoryu around somehow to mess up the opponents di, how do you do that? I’ve been trying but I can’t reverse the true shoryu.
You input the shoryuken, then quickly flick the control stick in the opposite direction to turn the shoryuken around. Basically do it normally, then move the other direction immediately.
Dunno why up smash isnt cancellable, in street fighter, as far as I know, its the only cancellable heavy he has aside from froximity heavy punch standing, low sweep isnt cancellable in sf but im fine with it in smash
Bro u said the combing into fsmash is so dumb but don't you realize that ken in ssbu is based of of street fighter 2 tubro moveset? Ken fsmash is actually his heavy kick in street fighter and just like in smash bros his crescent kick combos into fsmash (heavy kick in street fighter) so bro its fair game lol
Flick the stick for light, hold it down for heavy. Honestly you don’t want to flick the stick of you are going for rapid light attacks. The cstick isn’t built for that. You’d rather go for the a button
