I have a pair of real and a pair of reps. First few months I wore the reps more because I didn’t want to get the authentic ones dirty. But I was like what’s the point if I don’t wear them. So I started to wear the real ones more often in good weather. The thing is… no one could tell and no one cares.
The people that care are the ones that are spending money on the real thing. I’m sure they’d like to be able to make sure that the shoe they’re getting is authentic
@@TheVoyagers.who doesn’t? Directly or indirectly.. Or would you wear a pair of these alone in the world? You wear them cause you want to be validated in some sense/social group
This was super educational thanks a lot I really appreciate it, helps me with my decision; I’m actually going to pick up a pair of the pk 4.0 due to the affordable like you mentioned these reps def at the top of the game
All these differences could be present if you compared two pairs of real ones. Nike’s quality control is awful, I have had pairs directly from Nike with the swoosh higher on one than the other, stitching imperfections, toe box holes in the wrong place etc etc.
Across the 3 channels I’ve had I’ve probably done this shoe maybe 10-15 times. While this is probably one of the better ones, the things that are not “Nike QC issues” are the different color reverse swoosh+it’s coating. Reps consistently have never gotten the reverse swoosh color on these. The real pairs can vary in tumbling of the leather they don’t vary in color or material. That also goes for the white leather. Reps having that grey tinted white leather is an issue exclusive to reps. Every single batch I’ve reviewed has it while authentic pairs have bright white leather. The laces colors being completely off is also not something retail pairs do. Nikes QC means that there a lot of things that can vary, that’s true. I’m not talking about those things on the reps. I’m pointing out the things that are just wrong and can be used for legit checking
@@fbkickzngear2.0 I bought two pairs of Jordan 1 low lakers earlier this year, the toe box leather should be a blueish purple, one was correct and the other was just cobalt blue with no purple hue, both pairs from JD sports, colour issues can definitely happen with legit pairs.
@@bfcricky that tends to be the case with died leather, especially in mass produced shoes. When it comes to the reverse swoosh on these, they were very consistent
Paused video at 9:57 and zoomed in… the leather heel portion touching the narrow portion of the swoosh is neatly aligned on 4.0 whereas the heel leather on authentic pair is stitched on top of the swoosh itself. Does that vary pair to pair?
I don't know if you're still wondering this but I was. I went to eBay and every pair on there different sizes all had overlapping. edit: went and looked at a few more and there were three or four pairs that wasn't overlapping.
Many people compare them when they are clean What is it when you can see the difference the most, but when you use them and they get a little dirty, the differences start to be almost nil.
@@fbkickzngear2.0Oh, sorry, I didn’t mean that. I was referring to the people who are worried about those small differences in the reps. I meant that once you breakdown the reps and they get a little messy the differences start to be null. Thanks for the response any ways
Hey man, thanks for sharing your content - super helpful! I've been through all of your J1 Reverse Mocha reviews - what would you say is the best rep out there for these? I don't own any reps but I NEED THESE haha
Seu trabalho é incrível, sempre haverá diferenças entre um original e uma réplica, mas na prática isso é irrelevante, ninguém vai notar isso no dia a dia
Thanks for your video, very educational. I have a question: What about sizing? I heard that all Travis's lows run a little bigger than the normal J1 lows.
Honestly once you get to this level of quality they all have varying degrees of the same flaws. The sole color won’t match retail, the reverse swoosh color won’t match retail, the white leather color will be slightly off. Go with the one who has the right combo of flaws you’re willing to live with.
squeeze the sole, if its the original PK (there's so many PK now, there's PK there's PK4.0 there is PK 5.0 and all of them from different manufacture) it will have the jello sole
Thank you for this . Couldn’t find your video on the Pk4.0 frag lows. Would you say the Pk 4.0 version in better when compared to the fragment lows ? Closer to retail i mean. I’ve heard FK is also recommended for both these shoes
@@fbkickzngear2.0 you mentioned at the end of the video that this version of the Pk 4 is middle of the line in terms of rep quality? Assuming you think this one really isn’t up there yea
@@ishanrko quality is never the issue. my critiques are almost always about accuracy in things like color. the quality on these is on par with authentic shoes. the inaccuracies are specific to this colorway
Nice review as always. Regarding the previous version you got in hand did you already try fk batch? If so would you say that this "pk" 4.0 is closest to retail ?
@@fbkickzngear2.0 Yeah saw that too. Mainly based on the toebox shape, slight color difference compared to retail (better than FK) and also the outsole which tend to be less flimsy and as sturdy as retail. Is it something you've notice too?
@@omega7538 absolutely. actual PK batch jordan 1s suffer from the flimsy sole. but this PK 4.0 batch which isnt actually PK at all is so much more sturdy. I think the one that takes the cake is the PK 4.0 OG lows. I have video coming out on those this week.
@@fbkickzngear2.0 good to know. I was looking at OG first but now because it's almost summer I need a shoes with more summer vibes so the reverse mocha will be my go to pair 😂. Did you planned to rock them or it was just for learning and entertainement?
the midsole and reverse swoosh were always my go to check.. gotta be extra careful now as it really is just a hair shade off. how is the smell? all the retail pairs ive come across, even after being aired out and not potent anymore has a distinct smell that i can tell right away is an aj1
The first half is correct, the second half isnt correct all the way. PK 4.0 isn’t actually PK. Just another way these rep manufacturers try to capitalize on marketing. On the second point, PK 4.0 is a top quality batch for Travis Scott Jordan 1s. PK on the other hand has many different shoes its makes from mid level quality to high level. There Jordan 1s accross the board are mid level. They look okay, they use decent materials. But all of their soles fail the bend test and are generally much softer than retail and PK 4.0 soles. Outside of that PK Travis Scott Jordan 1s more or less are on the same level with PK 4.0 from a quality perspective but PK 4.0 gets over on then for accuracy. You won’t find a pk Travis Scott 1 low in the original mocha color way that has a better sole color or better nubuck than pk 4.0.
I'm ordering a pair of Pk4.0 but thinking of returning them for a PK batch. Was told that Pk and Pk4.0 are not related at all and that PK looks the closest to retail is this true?
Between this channel and my last 2 channels before, I’ve done 10-15 videos on the reverse mochas. I haven’t seen a single batch that has a reverse swoosh that matches my retail pair.
@@jijiji69 PK is the best batch when it comes to everything. The only thing FK has above PK is that it's cheaper. But if you'd want a really good pair I'd choose PK. I've got both the FK and PK batch at home. PK is better than the FK.
@@teklados1603 compared to retail? Like i said its negligeable. The retail pairs aren’t super high quality to begin with. And where you might get a slightly lighter sole with the FK batch , pk 4.0 (not regular pk batch they’re not the same factory) has a better reverse swoosh color. Throw into the mix the variations in nubuck you get when they restock and reproduce either batch, id go with whatever you can find that cheaper at the moment you’re buying.
