Mario Super Sluggers: a 13 year old game that STILL has its tier list amended

i see a lot of stats and abilities talked about in these tier lists but one thing i’ve never heard talk about is their arm strength. some characters have much batter arms than others and it can be a big advantage to have players with absolute canon on some key spots on the field. for example Birdo is imo the best infielder in this game. suction catch is great. has chemistry with Yoshi who is another great infielder. but also Birdo has a really strong arm which allows her to turn more double plays than other characters. Kritter is another example just like Birdo.

i agree that Montgomery "Moonball" "Meatball" Molerat is better than Grover Cleveland, but they both should be higher than f tier

(READ THIS BEFORE RESPONDING) I have played this game on/off for about 6 years. I have studied the stats, chemistry, and value of every single player. I play competitive w nunchuck as it’s the most skilled way to play the game. -First off, I commented on the tier list video, i’m so happy you can king Yoshi his number 1 position in S tier thank you! -I still think Peach is a little overrated, her star hit is only good against a team of boys as girls can easily run over and catch the ball. Being said that, Birdo and Nokia are some of the best 2nd base/Shortstops in the game. Peach’s rank should be dropped while buffing nokia. -King Boo is an S tier if not in the top 3. The reason you do not put him higher is his fielding ability. i would argue his fielding is actually really because he can levitate. Not only that he also has probably one of the best chemistry in the game. He is an amazing 3rd base and he can counter pow spams and have a chemistry throw to petey on first base. -Nokia is no where near a C tier. Nokia can stop any steal and base running. She is a necessary aspect on any Mario(chemistry/captained) team. Nokia can consistently get on base w bunts or star swings if you just save 1 for her. -King K rool very overrated. King K rool is a character that all noobs pick on their team because he “hits home runs”. He is slow and can barely even make it to bases against a strong outfield. He more often hurts his team by causing many double plays. Also because of his lack of almost no chemistry it’s very easy to rob his home run. Power is not everything. -Other than that i agree with most of the tier list good job👍

Slap hits? Monty mole hits balls that orbit the planet then gets around the bases in the blink of an eye. He doesn’t have the best chemistry, but that’s only because the other characters are salty from how op he is

Boo's bat is really underrated. The slap and star hit have solid curves. As for Wiggler,he can double as a 1B or 3B thanks to his height,and if you have Petey as your SS/2B,that adds even more potency to Wiggler playing infield.

As someone who's favorite characters are Yoshi and Toad, I'm really glad that both got higher placements than last time. Great video!

I don’t think you’ve seen Waluigi and King Boo dice up a team for 5 straight innings. That alone should take them to upper A

I think Toadsworth deserves at least D Tier, since although he can be countered by experienced players, his chemistry makes him a good infielder and can still have a few pretty good pitches (but that's probably just me being able to hit his lobs). Also, I would move Nokis and Toads up one tier, but that's just from my experience.

I'd vouch for wiggler going into S-Tier, I've said this before, but his bat being so small makes hitting the sweet spot with him piss easy, and combined with his above average batting power, the dude just slams homers like it's nobodies business

I feel like King K Rool would have value as a catcher because he throws the ball so fast and could throw people out if they try to steal. Amazing hitter. Good Catcher

I definitely watched the first tier list and was like “idk bro I think u underrating my boi yoshi.” But number 1?!?! OKAY, LES GO YOSHI!!

I love the Toads because of their large and useful mushroom head. Tip: Lean them all the way to the right, and if the pitcher is moved far enough over, it's a bean ball waiting to happen. With toads on my team, I get hit by pitch at least 4 times a game. Gotta do what you gotta do to get them on base!

Baby DK should be higher, paired with Yoshi in the outfield he’s really good

I agree with a lot...and I disagree with so much more. A random comment on the internet like this was inevitable though, right? However, what makes this video incredibly interesting is how much I respect your reasoning for everyone's placement. You also explain your points so concisely, it's hard to believe this video is under 15 minutes. I'd totally be down for routine, seasonal tier lists like this!

Does anyone else use the big characters like bowser and dk in the infield? Their massive hitboxes and cannon arms is kinda op for a shortstop or third base

My man Montgomery Moneyball Moonball Molerat mashes mammoth moonballs. He's at least SS tier. Also bowser should be s tier as well. He's much faster than k rool and his power is about the same, not to mention more chemistry.

Finally, Justice for Blooper, while still not S tier where I would put him, I'm glad he is no longer in the ridiculous position of D tier

Wiggler and I have a love/hate relationship. While I cannot deny he is good with excellent hitting and running, my biggest gripe about him is that he seems to have the worst attack for chemistry out of all the characters. Which hurts if he misses the ball, cause it's hard to gage the distance due to how pitiful it is.

I would rank Pink Yoshi right above Toadette and the other Yoshi’s right below Toadette. *4 Keep in mind Hammer Bro is the worst Bro. I would rank Boomeranh Bro right ahead of Hammer Bro himself, and Fire Bro right ahead of Funky Kong.

Baby Daisy is definitly at least a D Tier. I would put her in High D. Her fielding is strong especially since she has super dive, she has pretty good pitching as well, and a decent hitting + one of the best Star swings in the game as well as an okay chemistry tree

I understand why babies are low but their awful hitting really doesn't matter too much when you star hit. Their jets and chemistry with Yoshi is also very important.

With toadsworth you can pitch a ball that counts as a strike.

Kritter is the best SOLO player. Unlike everyone else who you need to worry about chemistry with, but kritter has no chemistry. This “would” make him bad, but without having to worry about this at all might actually give him more freedom then anyone else. From there he can pitch in a pinch. Has super dive and good height making him a top 5 infielder imo, and hits dingers like nobody else. Oh and there’s *4* of them. Having alts is a plus. He’s the ultimate jack of all trades that you can slap on any team (besides maybe a kong team) in the final slot and work wonders with

I think baby DK deserves to be up a tier You can make a good outfield with him and Yoshi’s and he has a good bat for any character

Oh boy do I have some things to say. First, Bowser JR is not even close to A tier because you can counter his star swing with a buddy jump and it’s an auto out. Baby DK at D tier is also crazy, as he hits nukes, and also can play corner outfield with baby chem. Low key a sneaky good pitcher too. Dry Bones stays being underrated. I swear that he is the best hitter in the game, maybe except petey. The Miis are way too high, they have mediocre stats across the board, and never really perform well for me. Them branding chem is helpful, but not A tier. Wiggler is S tier as he has unrivaled pop and ridiculous speed, as well as a huge hit box which makes him a menace at first or third. heck no baby dk is still the best batter in the game which means he deserves to be the only person in S tier because batting is obviously the only thing that matters in this game OBVIOUSLY. (lol honestly though baby dk just hits differently for me I can't say the same thing for dixie or tiny though. It still gets me how many people seriously thinks that the batting stat is the be all end all stat. While I get it it is useful for the worst batters and the best batters the stat feels like the pitching stat to me besides for those characters. There are some characters with batting 4 that I hit better with than characters with 5 or 6. Since the stat is how hard they hit the ball and not how well they hit it, so characters like funky lose to a mario in terms of a RBI challenge.) Ok on with the video lol.

This is a much better list in my opinion. I like these placements a lot more, but there is still some I would change personally. Baby DK: I would move him up to C Tier. He has insane hitting, and even more insane fielding. I really like having him on the left outfield. Lack of chemistry does draw him back tho ngl. Noki: I would rank Noki in B Tier, maybe even A Tier! Noki has a very versatile kit, very balanced, and just MADE for 2nd base. Also, great chemistry! K. Rool: I think K. Rool is too high. I can't find him useful at all. Also his chemistry is really, really bad. Peach: This is the one I'm REALLY confused on. How is she S Tier? Yeah, star swing. I get it. But her chemistry is mediocre. I don't understand how Peach is S Tier.

Geez. I agree with most of this, but I feel like I need to point out something. The gender of a character was brought up so much, yet the only time gender even matters is if you’re playing against Peach. But if you’re going by the logic of Peach’s star hit really being that important: 1. Why are a good chunk of the girls not even in the top half? 2. Why is Peach only ranked number 4? Such a “game changing” ability and she’s not even in the top 3? 3. All of this “picking girls” nonsense can easily be avoided if you pick peach right from the start. 4. In addition to #3, if you aren’t up against peach, none of it matters in the first place. I genuinely think this video is well made and nearly all the characters were placed well, but man, you made peach’s star swing a much bigger deal than what it actually is.

One time, I've hit three homers and pitched a shutout single-handedly by Daisy against a starred difficulty 4 roster. Her star-hit is exceptional, pitching is filthy, hitting is decent, and with her super-dive she makes use of a good shortstop. Although her chemistry is not very expanded, she is the definition of an "all-around" player.

For myself I really value tall players to catch stuff thanks to their height. That's why Noki, Toadette and Babies are low for that and also for their abysmal arm strength. One thing I hope lots of other players look at are buddy tackles. Example, Bowser and K Rool are amazing center fielders thanks to the range of their buddy tackle to give the ball faster to their teammates and even perform a buddy toss faster. This is why Petey is high for me and cements him over Peach imo. Anyways this is my list and I agree with a lot of the stuff you said! PS: The Waluigi thing I think happens Dixie Kong too iirc. PSS: Forgot one thing! Tiny Kong and Funky Kong have great Chemistry trees with Light Blue Miis and with the Luigi Blue Yoshi! It's a good combo and I highly recommend it as you can use Baby DK and other babies to make really unique Teams. That's why Funky is higher than the usual kongs, Tiny though I have no faith with her but could be argued for C honestly.
