Take the helm of your very own fishing boat in Fishing Barents Sea and explore the vastness of the Norwegian sea in search for the best fishing zones. Start with the little boat inherited from your grandfather, catch fish and earn money for upgrades as well as bigger and better boats. Enjoy the beautiful Barents Sea and make your fishing industry dreams come true.
Learn how to catch different kinds of fish with various fishing equipment on several different boats. Every method is easy to learn, but hard to master - time to show what you are made of!
Use officially licensed Scanmar equipment like door sensors and the TrawlEye to have complete control over your trawl. Upgrade it to make sure you get the biggest catch! But be sure to stay under your yearly fishing quotas, every step and every fishing run needs to be planned. 20 years of weather data recreate a realistic environment for the schools of fish in the Barents Sea, which move according to season and water temperature. It's up to you to keep track of everything.
Visit the harbor pub to hire crew members or accept missions. At the port you are also able to repair or upgrade your ships, get a loan from the bank or buy supplies and bait at the shop.
Freely explore an open world environment which recreates the stunning landscapes of northern Norway. Look for the best fishing zones with the help of your sonar, radar and GPS and catch yourself the biggest profit.

Great game, great tutorial, Haven't been playing that long but finding it very good. But I do have a problem with the game. And since you apparently have an "IN" with the game programmers, and I don't. I thought I'd run this suggestion through you. "Time flies in Norway", I guess, but I hate the time speed, you really get penalized on your travel time. It takes 6hrs to just 3 NM which at 9 knts should only take about a half hour. skipping time, week in port is cool, but when out on the boat it should be real time, or be able to set the time speed, when out on the boat. Or at least have your travel speed in sync with the time speed.Thanks, Good Vid,

Sim UK question, what is the hidden ship unlocked with reputation?? Just curious i had all ships. And just started over yesterday im liking the update so far aug 6th will be awesome though.

It's only accessible from 2/3 ports (unless they have changed that) it's part of a mission requiring you to observe killer whales. I haven't played for a while so I forget the names of everything but at the time it was an external ship only, no fps....that might have changed.

It has its issues (ie optimisation) but I do like the title. However, I wish you could do more via first person. A majority of the ship functions are only accessable via third person, even navigating in first person is near impossible due to lack of zoom to look at your cabins GPS, and no UI for waypoints and targets etc. I really, really hope that they make these changes as time goes on. Would love to mostly stick in first person for that ETS/Train Sim World feel.

Good stuff UK, of course watching your vids, and a few other English speaking vids. (A lot of German ones out there. I may have been born there but can't speak a lick of it.) I knew most of this. Now I am just impatiently waiting for it to be released. I been checking steam every hour since midnight. lol Anywho good stuff and hope folks get a learning from it.

itchin' to go fishin' lol! gona probably get this sim even if i cant run it yet! (shy of recommended minimum specs thx to my GT 720m) is it possible to run this sim in 720p? or has upgrade time long since passed for me? haha :)

+Bigdubb62 PELtech lol should run at 720 and the shades / settings do make a big diff. My gtx 970 runs at 30-90 fps depending on config. Though I would recommend keeping an eye open for a gpu soon ;-)

How do you speed up time? Right now I drop my line, net , pot whatever in the fast travel in circles until my bobbers turn blue. I hear you can speed up time at the dock but have no idea how.

What's the 'best' fishing for the Sjarken? I'm using nets now. I have a 75 and a 120 m net. But with the 120 m net, I usually haul more than my storage capacity. Even fully upgraded Sjarken. So. Should I return to linefishing untill i reach bigger boats and storage room? Or just use the 75 m only?

IMHO the balance needs adjusting, so until that happens best bet is using nets with 75m because that will fill your boat anyways.

Have been forced away from the game for a while, so hopefully going to uncover this soon and then I can give full details. I do know that currently it's a 3rd person only ship and involves hunting/spotting whales/Orca's.

when you are fishing you should be able to dump fish, so you have more space for mission cargo or be able to deliver mission cargo before you reach the amount needed in the mission.. damn it annoying

Yes I think the fish haul balance needs adjusting tbh...but being able to offload to another ship for a price would be good too.

In 3rd person > bottom left of screen you have three buttons. Click the top one and it will expand. the button farthest to the right is gut fish.

At my game they Don't ask if I want to gut. I got to press v so i Will sit in the steering wheel. Than press E to gut. (I pressed Don't show again) how to fix this?

+Driebonus good question....off the top of my head I don't know but in 3rd person bottom left there are some buttons. If you expand the top button The one furthest to the right is to gut fish.

What boat do you have now? Line fishing allows you to better target high value fish, check the log for details and season info.

Then def check ledger for best prices and then charts for fish. Line fishing using best bait, and upgrade haulage capacity (less trips). Best advice, enjoy the serenity it's a stunning game.

+Shoryuken89 open sea with a trawler. I think they are pleural so use the Lunar Bow not the Hermes because Hermes is floor trawler.
